We bought a 16 x 40 sq ft shed & transformed it into a tiny home with THREE bedrooms – people say it’s a total ‘dream’

A SAVVY woman has been flooded with praise after showing off the shed she transformed into a "beautiful" tiny home for her family.

Carly, who lives in Kentucky, US, explained how she bought a 16 x 40 sq ft shed and set to work turning it into a stylish new home - and people can't believe it contains three bedrooms.

In the clip posted to TikTok (@athomewith_theyorks), she begins by showing the interior of the property, which is complete with a modern wooden flooring and open plan kitchen/living room area.

While the living room features a cosy L-shaped blue sofa, log burner, and wooden coffee table with scallop edge detail, the kitchen features all of the amenities any family could need - including oven, fridge and sink.

Carly then moves onto the first of the three bedrooms, which has a light and airy feel and space-saving bunk beds for her two sons.

The second room also has a cleverly designed bed, which is a high up single bed which offers plenty of storage underneath.

Then there's the final master bedroom, which is large enough for a double bed, chest of drawers, and a cupboard that contains the washing machine.

And last but not least, the fresh white bathroom with navy accents includes a basin, toilet and bath/shower.

It wasn't long before the post went viral, racking up a whopping 817k views and hundreds of comments from very impressed social media users.

"It's 3 bedroom!! That is amazing!" praised one.

"You have a beautiful home on beautiful property. You should be so proud!" a second commented.

A third enthused: "Beautiful home - you made such great use of the 640 sq.ft."

Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "I love love love this!! this is my dream. how much did the house cost all together? If you don't mind me asking."

Another noted: "I love your home!!! It’s beautiful!!!"

In a second video, Carly responded to social media users who asked for a break down of the costs.

She explains that when she bought the undeveloped land, it had no water, no electric, and didn't have a septic tank, meaning they had to put all of that in.

She says that while the electric and water totalled about $1,000 (£793) each, the septic tank set her back a whopping $8,000 (£6,346).

Carly adds that they opted for a repo cabin which was roughly $16,000 (£12,693), with a brand new one usually costing around $20,000 (£15,867), and it cost them about $12,000 (£9,520) to finish - adding that they bought everything aside from the interior doors.

"It ended up being about $28,000 (£22,213) just for the house itself and then $38,000 (£30,147) if you're going to include your septic, water, and electric," she concludes.
