My council house was run down and bare when I moved in – using goodies from The Range I’ve made it look ‘lush’
A WOMAN has shared how she transformed her rundown council house using her DIY skills.
Amy shared an insight into her council house renovation via a video posted to her TikTok channel @amybabieee92.
When she first moved into the property, the house looked incredibly rundown, with stained floorboards and paint peeling off the walls.
The property was completely bare, with no furniture and basic kitchen appliances.
Amy set to work straight away, and has now made her house into a home.
The property now looks unrecognisable.

In the living room, she carpeted the floors, painted the walls and added a large grey rug.
She has added a cosy looking grey sofa, with lots of comfy cushions and hug an elephant canvas from The Range on the wall.
In her bedroom, she has also stuck to the grey theme, with a sparkly grey picture on the wall and a large grey double bed.
Amy's video has clearly left many impressed, as it has racked up over 74,000 views on the video sharing platform.

Council tenants are allowed to make alterations and renovations to their homes.
However, they must make sure that any work conforms to building regulations and planning permission.
Council houses are provided by local authorities to those in need.
They are often cheaper than renting private housing and can also offer greater security from eviction.
Council houses are allocated to prospective tenants via a points based system, with those in greater need given homes first.
The council will contact you about an available property when you are high enough up the waiting list.
