I’m a safety expert and there are three toys I would never let my children play with or risk severe injury or even death

CHRISTMAS is just a fortnight away and many families will be counting down the days until they can unwrap their presents.

Whilst you might have got most of your kids shopping done already, you might want to rethink some of your stocking fillers - especially as one safety expert has revealed which toys he'd could be extremely dangerous.

It can be a nightmare knowing what to get your kids for Christmas, even for the most cautious of parents.

Not only do you have to consider cost and their interests, almost every toy has the potential to become a hazard.

Despite being widely enjoyed though, expert Tommy John Kherkher says there are three common toys he'd never buy - no matter how much his kids begged.

Though you might think the Tiktok famous lawyer is being overly cautious, he specialises in the less than merry subject of catastrophic injury and death - meaning he is an expert on safety.

While you might have more sleepless nights than silent ones after watching his video, its a great guide for concerned parents this Christmas.

Among the many items on his naughty list were toys with any small button batteries, as these could pose an extreme health risk.

Although most toys are rechargeable nowadays, some still contain these and the Tommy advises against any parent buying them.

"Those things are crazy dangerous," he revealed, adding:  "If a child swallows one by accident, it gets lodged in their oesophagus or in their windpipe."

He continued: "Due to the chemical mixture within the batteries, they can erode the oesophagus and burn a hole in it in a matter of minutes."

It wasn't the only toy to be taken off of his shopping list though.

Also left at the checkout were water beads, which are also known by the brand name Orbeez.

These soft, squishy gel-like beads went viral on Tiktok, with the colourful pellets expanding to in water to be used in all kinds of fun activities.

Despite being marketed as a sensory toy though, the lawyer has grave concerns about these small plastics beads.

"There have been reports that multiple kids, even just swallowing or ingesting one of these has cause intestinal obstructions," he explained, adding that there have even been deaths linked to the toy.

Parents of newborns also had an extra reason to feel exhausted, especially after hearing the last item on Tommy's list.

You might have been gifted a bouncer or 'incline sleeper', hoping that it will help your little one nod off for the night.

Though the gentle rocking can be useful, the accident lawyer says that they shouldn't be part of a bedtime routine.

"The bottom line is, babies should always be sleeping flat on their back and not at an incline," he told fans, saying: "Their heads can lean forward causing their airway to block."

Shockingly, these devices were originally marketed as being safe for your baby to sleep in, but there have been multiple recalls in recent years.

Seems like you might just have to skip giving Santa warm milk this year and save it for your little one instead.
