U.S. probes Waymo self-driving vehicles over ‘unexpected behavior’

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Monday it has reports of 22 incidents ― 17 of which involved a crash or a fire ― in which a Waymo automated vehicle was the sole vehicle operated during a collision, or exhibited behavior that potentially violated traffic safety laws. It examined an estimated 444 Waymo vehicles.
