I'M A Celebrity fans have been left convinced they know the 'real reason' behind Nigel Farage's painfully awkward reunion with girlfriend Laure Ferrari.
Fans watching the final of the ITV reality show were left cringing as Nigel and Laure appeared to have a rather bumbling reunion as he left the jungle in third place.
Nigel was pipped to the post on the show by Made in Chelsea star turned radio host Sam Thompson who was crowned champ while Tony Bellew finished in second place.
As he made his exit, Laure was waiting for him at the far end of the bridge but an awkward hug was all that anyone could talk about during the often highly emotive moment.
Some viewers have now shared their theory as to why politician Nigel was so awkward with his girlfriend.
They have suggested that the star struggles with showing emotion, heightened when in public.

One fan took to Reddit to say: "His body language around her is weird... but it could just be he's uncomfortable showing his emotions publicly?"
Another went onto add: "I thought the same, it felt kind of awkward between them.
"Maybe for him he felt awkward showing his feelings publicly, and for her she's used to a more affectionate Nigel?"
Before a third went onto say: "I reckon Nigel is painfully aware of his existence, especially when the cameras are on."
Commenting on the moment after it aired, one fan penned on X - formerly Twitter: "Nigel's wife couldn't have got away from him quick enough then."
Another joked that he "pushed her out the way" so she "didn't ruin his moment".
Show hosts Ant and Dec made a series of quips about Laure being Nigel's "secret girlfriend" as she made her TV debut on the show's Coming Out special.
Just hours after she touched down in Oz to cheer on Nigel in the jungle, Laure was taken to hospital where her arm was strapped into a sling.
On the show she finally addressed what happened to her stricken limb.
She explained: "So I spent my first day in a hospital. I decided to go surfing and I had a bit of an incident."
Laure, a French politician, has secretly dated the Brexiteer since 2017, but has now stepped into the spotlight.
Arriving in Australia at Brisbane airport, she laughed as The Sun asked what it has been like living with Nigel these past six years.
Laure, 44, revealed: “Life at home with Nigel is very good.

"The hoovering though? He definitely doesn’t do any of that.
"The one thing he is very good at though is doing the dishes — he’s really, really good at that.”
