Shoppers are racing to M&S after finding limited edition Colin the Caterpillar cakes – and he even has a Valentine
WITH less than two weeks until Valentine’s Day, love is in the air.
Whilst the supermarket might not be the most romantic place, shoppers are feeling the love after spotting a limited edition treat at Marks and Spencer.
If you grew up in the 90s and 00s, Colin the Caterpillar was probably an essential part of your childhood.
First seen on shelves in 1990, the classic M&S character has gained huge fan base and his iconic chocolate cake has become a staple of kids’ birthday parties.
Thankfully, you won’t have to wait until your big day to indulge, as Marks and Spencer have released a limited edition Valentine’s cake featuring their beloved mascot.
Eagled eyed shoppers spotted the new cake in a recent Tiktok by the brand, filmed in their Menai branch in Wales.

The adorable lovebug has even had a little makeover, with his chocolate shell encrusted with pink and white hearts.
Never one to miss a trend, the cute caterpillar even has a Cupid ’s bow logo on his back and red hearts on his face – perfect for sweetening up even the pickiest partner.
Like many of us, Colin has partnered up for Valentine’s Day with Connie also making an appearance on shelves.
Made from the same classic chocolate sponge and rich buttercream, the little bug has swoon-worthy pink chocolate decorations which you’ll struggle to share.
According to the now viral Tiktok, the cute cakes cost £6.50 meaning you can afford to pick up both lovebugs.
Fans of the children's' character will also be hoping that M&S repeat their classic two for £10 deal - although it’s unclear whether the retailer intends to do this.
Those who aren’t fans of the creepy crawlies won’t have to miss out on the love fest either, as M&S have several Valentine’s theme chocolates in store.
This includes some aptly named ‘cheeky chocolates’, with the limited edition milk chocolates being shaped like various saucy emojis.
Whilst we wouldn’t recommend passing these out in the office, the tempting treat should put a smile on your partner’s face with the cheeky lips, cherry, aubergine and peach shapes.
On sale for £3.50, these limited edition chocs won’t stay on shelves for long and are available at your local M&S Food Hall or on Ocado.
For those looking for a more safe for work option, M&S are also selling the limited edition Hearts Full of Love box – which features five brightly coloured chocolates.
Each heart is made from milk or white chocolate, with a tempting salted blonde ganache at it’s centre.
Currently on sale for a fiver, you can afford to spoil all your loved ones – or just indulge by yourself.
Finally, dog lovers have something to look forward to with the return of the adorable Walter sausage dog chocolate bar.
