Six wildest original Celebrity Love Island moments – from fat-shaming to furious exes and screaming rows
LONG before Anton Danyluk spritzed his breath spray and Mitch Taylor got messy in the Love Island villa, it was a raft of single celebs jetted off to paradise for a shot at finding romance.
The original version of the show was uncharted territory as the likes of Calum Best, Shane Lynch, Sophie Anderton, Paul Danan, Bianca Gascoigne and Lee Sharpe over two drama-filled series.
Back in 2005 and 2006 it was as if the Big Brother house had been given an exotic twist and dropped in beautiful Fiji.
Those heady days provided some jaw on the floor moments that were fortunate to avoid the social media microscope.
We take a look at six of the wildest:
Bianca Gascoigne fat-shamed

Anyone with a pair of eyes could see Bianca was fighting fit physically.
But that didn't stop glamour girl Alicia Douvall from delivering a stomach-churning personal insult.
Via a video message she told Bianca she was "one cupcake away from obesity", which prompted the young star to get upset.
Wiping away tears, she was swiftly consoled by model Sophie Anderton who offered to do sit-ups with her. How thoughtful.
Wine-gate
Socialite Lady Victoria Hervey took revenge on her long-time pal Sophie Anderton in a shocking reunion in the villa.
After her exit from the show, Lady Vic watched a tape of Sophie snogging her villa beau Chris Brosnan in the bedroom.
Sophie insisted she hadn't promised her friend she wouldn't make a move, but that didn't make Vic feel any better about it.
In a surprise turn of events, Vic was brought back to confront her friend and boy did she do just that.
Sophie said she hadn't "f***ed her over" and promised she would have called Lady Vic about it after the show.
As they got up to leave the Love Shack, Vic poured wine over Sophie's head, who then retaliated by throwing a cushion and storming off.
Comeback season
Lady Vic wasn't the only ex to return to the fold.
In season two Bianca Gasgoine and Calum Best got a shock when singer Leo Ihenacho reappeared to spoil their fun.
Leo had hit it off with Bianca before his exit, but she was unable to resist lothario Calum's charms and quickly fell under his spell.
The build up to the confrontation was a piece of cake for producers, quite literally, as Leo sprang out of an iced dessert, much to everyone's surprise.
Guest stay
These days we have bombshells to spice up villa life.
But back in the day there were celebrity guest arrivals, whose only job was to have a jolly for a day or two before jetting back out.
There were some big guns too with basketball legend Dennis Rodman and Jackass danger man Steve-O having cameos.
It wasn't a woman Steve-O was on the lookout for, rather chocolate and beer.
And when the booze wasn't forthcoming, that was his cue to leave.
Hands off
In uncomfortable scenes, cheeky chappy Paul Danan crossed the line before playing his behaviour off as banter.
The former Hollyoaks star thought it would be funny to try and pull down Sophie's bikini bottoms, though the joke quickly backfired.
She rightly raged: "No man dare touch me without my permission. It's f***ing disgusting."
Best time
He's appeared on more reality show than pretty much any other Brit.
Calum Best couldn't get enough of Love Island, so much so he came back for a second series.
The ladies man's search for The One had plenty of ups and down.
Even though he ended up winning at the second attempt with Bianca Gascoigne, the pair never worked out in the real world. Oh, what could have been.
Name change
In a bizarre turn of events, show bosses were forced into an awkward name change following backlash around the first series.

Not quite sure who everyone taking part was, fans questioned if they were all celebrities after all.
It prompted the word celebrity to be dropped from the title of series two in a bid to avoid repeat criticism.
