Good Morning Britain in chaos as Ed Balls KICKS Susanna Reid in the head so hard her ‘eyesight went blurry’

GOOD Morning Britain's Ed Balls left the ITV show in chaos after kicking Susanna Reid in the head - leaving her eyesight blurry for "20 minutes."

The former Labour politician, 56, was left red-faced following the painful mishap, which came during a debate about passengers putting their feet up on plane seats on Wednesday.

To illustrate the chat, Good Morning Britain bosses installed a mock four-seat plane with Susanna, 53, and journalist Kevin Maguire in the front two chairs.

Ed sat directly behind his co-host and next to broadcaster Andrew Pierce.

As he attempted to get cosy he crossed his feet - with his shoes still on - on Susanna's headrest, kicking her in the process.

The ITV anchor promptly keeled over and held her head, as the former Shadow Chancellor leapt from his seat to apologise and comfort her.

He looked truly sorry at the mishap, with Susanna later joking: "I don't think we have ever settled a debate so quickly into the show."

She then told how "my eyesight went blurry for 20 minutes."

Mum of three Susanna joked how Ed had "put a heel" in her head and said: "I would really rather it were your socked feet."

Ed said: "I thought ooomph here [to put his feet on the seat]" as she joked back: "And the ooomph landed here!" referring to her head.

It came as this year marks Susanna’s 10th anniversary at GMB, and she had chalked up over a decade at BBC Breakfast before that.

Talking about how much she adores her job, she told The Sun last year: "There’s something wonderful about the fact that once that alarm goes off, I’m hurtling towards six o’clock.

“I need to read all the briefs, to know what’s in all the newspapers and on every main news website.

“I’ve got to be up to date with X [formerly Twitter].

“I need to have my hair and make-up done, see what they’ve got for me [to wear] in wardrobe and I have to attend the morning meeting.

“There isn’t a spare minute, and I love that about the show.”
