BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent is forced to present alone with co-star nowhere to be seen

BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent was forced to present alone today - with a male co-host nowhere to be seen.

Sally, 52, usually hosts the BBC programme every Monday to Wednesday alongside Jon Kay.

However, for today's New Year's Day programme, Jon, 54, was nowhere to be seen.

None of the other male presenters such as Ben Thompson were there either, meaning Sally had to front the show alone.

Ever the professional, Sally took flying solo in her stride, and covered a range of topics including the earthquake in Japan, the latest on the war in Ukraine and the conflict between Israel and Gaza.

She was however joined by some of her other BBC Breakfast co-stars, as Ben Boulos was in the studio to discuss the latest business news and the energy price cap, while John Watson was also on hand with the latest sports news.
