Leaders of Turkmenistan and Rais of Tatarstan discuss prospects for cooperation
On Tuesday, the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty held meetings with the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, as reported by the Watan news program.
The distinguished guest expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss a range of issues related to the progressive development of interstate cooperation. Rustam Minnikhanov conveyed greetings from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to both leaders.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan pays great attention to strengthening ties with the Republic of Tatarstan as a major industrial entity within the Russian Federation. Both sides agreed that personal contacts, maintained on a regular basis, play a decisive role in the effectiveness of the Turkmen-Tatarstan partnership.
During the meeting, the parties underscored that the history of interaction between the Turkmen and Tatar peoples, spanning centuries, has been based on the commonality of culture, language, and traditions, as well as principles of mutual respect. The esteemed guest from Tatarstan noted with deep respect the Turkmen people's commitment to carefully preserving and passing on national customs and distinctive culture to future generations. In this regard, the parties emphasized the importance of developing interstate dialogue in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that the Turkmen side will continue to actively work to strengthen ties in various fields within the framework of multifaceted strategic cooperation with the Russian Federation.

As the meeting coincided with Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan, the head of the country's highest representative body emphasized the special contribution of domestic diplomats to the successful implementation of foreign policy, as well as the achievements of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in training qualified personnel for this field.
The head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, congratulated the Turkmen leader, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, who was present at the meeting, on the Day of Diplomatic Workers.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, emphasized that much work has been done in recent years in the economic, political, and other spheres, thanks to which Turkmen-Tatarstan ties have reached a qualitatively new level. This strengthens bilateral relations, bringing good results to both countries, including through the investment climate created in Turkmenistan.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty expressed gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov for his care of Turkmen students studying at universities in Tatarstan, confirming the readiness of our country to expand cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational, and sports spheres.
As previously reported, in connection with the UN General Assembly's declaration of this year as the International Year of Peace and Trust, celebrations will be held in Ashgabat to mark the 30th anniversary of the state status of Turkmen neutrality, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov personally invited the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, to participate in the upcoming International Forum on December 12th.
