What odds are England to win Euro 2024 and our predictions for Three Lions

THE stage is set for this summer's European Championships with England looking to clinch their first major men's trophy since 1966.

The Three Lions will kick-start their campaign next week against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen, but what chances are the bookies giving Gareth Southgate's side?

England will arrive in Germany as favourites to win the 2024 European Championships.

The Three Lions are available at 7/2 with William Hill to be crowned champions and clinch their first major trophy since 1966.

And it's not too difficult to see why.

Gareth Southgate's side are brimming with attacking talent and possess some of the most effective attacking superstars in world football.

Jude Bellingham enters the tournament having won the Spanish league title and the Champions League, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

The 20-year-old was also voted La Liga's Player of the Season in his first year in Spain. Another award-winning talent in England's ranks is Manchester City's Phil Foden, who was named the Premier League's Player of the Season.

Foden claimed a career-best 19 goals and eight assists, and should compliment Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane, who claimed the Golden Shoe as Europe's top scorer in 2023/24 thanks to his brilliant 36-goal Bundesliga campaign.

Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer also add to England's embarrassment of riches, but there are serious concerns in defence.

Luke Shaw is the only natural left-back in Southgate's confirmed 26-man squad, although his inclusion has been dubbed a 'calculated gamble' with the Manchester United defender still recovering from injury.

Shaw has suffered with a hamstring injury which has kept him out of action since February, meaning 33-year-old Kieran Trippier will start despite being a right back.

John Stones has endured an injury-plagued season at the Etihad, starting just 11 Premier League games but is now the side's most experienced centre-back with Harry Maguire having been omitted.

He'll be partnered by 10-capped Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with Lewis Dunk, Joe Gomez and Aston Villa's Ezri Konsa the only other options.

Regardless, it looks a fairly straightforward assignment for England to progress from a group containing Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia.

If England finish first in Group C, as expected, they are likely to play one of Austria, Ukraine or Czech Republic.

If they win that clash, they would then play the team who wins the last 16 game between the runner-up of Group A and runner-up of Group B, which could tee up a quarter-final against Switzerland or Italy.

It doesn't get much easier with a clash against France or Belgium expected in the semi-finals before a potential final against Germany, Spain or Portugal.

Euro 2024 tips

England have more than enough ability to go deep in this wide-open Euros, but given I'm backing France to win Euro 2024, I'm putting up the Three Lions to be eliminated at the semi-final stage.
