Lush launches first Halloween countdown calendar – and it’s perfect for lovers of the spooky season

MOST of us automatically think of Christmas when we hear the words 'advent calendar' - but now Lush has completely changed the game.

The traditional countdown calendars usually get us excited for December 25 by treating us to little gifts, sweet chocolates or festive goodies.

But now lovers of the spooky season can get in on the action after the beauty brand launched a brand new Halloween countdown calendar.

The incredible set includes seven supernatural bath, shower and body treats to enjoy on the run-up to the eeriest night of the year.

And it makes for the perfect gift for those who love the spooky season, giving them one product a day as they anticipate the arrival of fright night.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the boxes and left totally bewitched by the incredible range of goodies inside.

The countdown calendar itself, which is a first for Lush, comes in a delightfully spooky, colourful box decorated with all our favourite Halloween characters.

Green-coloured ghosts and pumpkins sit beside black cats, spiders, and bats on a blue background with two doors on the front held together with green ribbon.

The box then opens up to a set of black numbered doors which each hide a Halloween product inside to be opened on the last week of October.

The thought that has gone into the design of this box is incredible - each door is expertly designed with artwork of jack-o-lanterns, creepy crawlies, bats and ghouls.

it also comes with a tag that reveals all the products that are included, but we're not showing that because we want to leave some of it as a surprise.

For that reason, I only opened four out of the seven doors and left the other three closed until the days before Halloween.

Hiding behind door number one is the deliciously fruity Batcurrent lip scrub which is perfect for dry, flaky lips this autumn.

Describing the product, experts at Lush said: "Your wingman Batcurrant is here to scrub lips smooth with exfoliating caster sugar.

"Jojoba oil and Fair Trade shea butter moisturise and leave lips soft, while the sweet candy notes of fruity blackcurrant absolute and juicy davana oil will make you go batty."

I then jumped straight to door number three where the Punkin Pumpkin bath bomb was eagerly waiting.

This bathtime treat is infused with uplifting cinnamon, lime and sweet wild orange that turns the water into a jack-o-lovely brew that's bright and refreshing.

Plus, it also smells incredible with its warming citrusy scent.

The mystical Magic Potion bath bomb was then hiding behind door number five.

Describing it online, the beauty brand said: "Lush Product Inventor Michelle was inspired by childhood forays into the garden to collect flowers and leaves for magic potions.

"This sweet floral bath bomb is a nod to imaginations that transform tubs into cauldrons and sticks into wands.

'SECRET MESSAGES'

A WOMAN has revealed she was left stunned when she discovered a 'secret message' on her Lush hair conditioner.

Brooke splashed out on the Super Milk spray from the much-loved store after hearing about its lasting smell on social media.

But she then made another discovery, after learning that the stickers on Lush products - which say which employee made them - have messages underneath.

Admitting in a TikTok video that she must have been "living under a rock", Brooke said she "never knew that", so wanted to see if it was true.

Peeling back the sticker on the Super Milk spray, she saw it said "Got plant-based milk?"

Brooke then went to find another Lush product to see what was under the sticker on that one.

She found a shower gel from the Shrek range, and underneath the sticker it said "there's an arrow in your butt".

According to Lush themselves, the secret messages are for the person who places the stickers on the pot or bottle - so they know "exactly where to pop it".

"Run your bath and drop it in to hear the crackling of real popping candy while mood-boosting dragon fruit powder and the scents of ylang ylang and clove bud oil fill the air.

"Then sink in and feel like a very good witch as you soak your worries away."

The last door I opened was number seven, which revealed the perfect product for any Halloween lover - a bar of Pumpkin Pie soap.

A skin-softening soap is so good it's scary - it is packed with a rich blend of pumpkin purée and maple sap to keep skin feeling soft and supple no matter how many times you wash.

And it smells divine with its blend of grapefruit and petitgrain oils that create a citrusy aroma.

It also has a green lightness that leaves skin feeling fresh, Lsuh experts say.

But if you want to know what is being doors number two, four and six then you'll have to buy it for yourself!
