‘Ugly as sin’ shoppers fume about Nike trainers slashed by 50% in mega sale – but some insist they’re great bargains

THERE’S plenty of ways to hunt down brand new Nike trainers for less - you just need to know where to look.

And one shopper has even found kicks slashed by up to 50%, including Air Max, Zoom and Metcon styles

The bargains are currently available at Nike Factory Stores, with a standard 30% across the board creeping up to 70% off for some products.

These outlets have more inventory than Nike’s traditional high-street stores, including products that were designed exclusively for the Factory Store.

They’re cheaper than standard stores as they offer products that may be from previous seasons or have minor defects.

Shopper Denis Ahmed took to Facebook to share the bargains he spotted in Nike’s Manchester Factory Store.

There were Blazer Low '77 Vintage and Blazer Mid '77 Vintage kicks for £45.46 each.

Denis also spotted Mid Runner 2 trainers for £38.46, Air Span IIs for £62.96 and Air Max Bliss kicks for 50% cheaper at £46.47.

Those weren’t the only Air Max discounted, either.

There were also women’s Air Max Plus Lace for £90.96 down from £129.95 and women’s Air Max 97 for £87.46 down from £124.95.

A variety of running trainers were also available at 30% off.

Denis spotted Air Zoom Vomero trainers for £73.46 and Air Zoom Pegasus for £68.56.

However, not all shoppers were convinced the finds were great bargains.

One claimed that they’re “all ugly as sin”, while another questioned if the trainers were even legitimate Nike.

Other Nike Factory Stores include the O2’s outlet shopping district in London, the famous Bicester Village designer outlet and Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.

There’s also one in Leeds, Gretna, Livingston, Antrim, Midlothian, Bridgewater, Rotherham, Maidenhead, Rugby, Norwich, York and Durham.

The news comes after Nike announced it is opening a new branch in Teesside on February 22.

Staff have announced the new Nike Unite store will be open to the public before the month is out.

'Nike Unite' is the latest expression of the global Nike Unite store concept.
