I sold my house & had the ultimate midlife glow up in my 50s – I moved to Turkey, dated the men & reclaimed my sexiness

AS winter hits the UK, many people can only dream of living in a hot country and not having to worry about the heating.

But one woman made this her reality, after she decided to sell her four storey house in the UK to live in a small flat in Turkey.

And she says she has no regrets.

The woman, who goes by the name of star Monroe on TikTok, has explained how she had a “Midlife Glow Up” after reaching her fifties.

In one video, she says: “I moved from the UK To Turkey last year, so I’ve done a whole year as a midlife woman on my own in a different country.”

The psychotherapist decided to share around ten points of what she’s learnt since moving abroad.

Taking to TikTok, she shared a video of herself with the sun beaming on her and mountains in the background.

She says: “Environment matters, I have been coming to Turkey for 18 years on holiday.

“My mum had a little place out here, still has. And everytime I hit Turkish land, I felt like I could be more me.

“I’m happier, I love the expansiveness, I love the great weather. I love being here.

“Environment matters, it feeds my soul.

“The second thing is that loneliness is a real thing, I get so lonely out here.

“As I said I’m a solo midlife woman and my mum comes out here twice a year, but that’s like 12 weeks of the year and then other times I’m on my own.

“I’m not a big socialiser, I like to keep myself to myself and what I’ve learnt about loneliness is it really is character building.

“I have built a robust resilience in me and it’s really strengthened me and it’s kind of given me more skin to be able to go out there and do other things.”

She also explained how her dating life has improved massively as well.

The Confidence Life Coach says: “Dating Turkish men taught me that I need to have high standards for myself, I need to hold myself with more dignity and that my body is sacred.

“I had nothing terrible, no terrible experiences but just kind of repetitive experiences and I was like, actually, I don’t need to do that.

“And I’m really happy with being on my own, I’m not seeking to have a partner.

“I go out, I’m not interested in men.

“I’m more than happy to talk to them and have a conversation but I don’t have that neediness in me anymore.

“I’m very self-sufficient and very happy in my own world.”

Other positive perks of moving abroad included cost of living benefits, health and wellness boosts and “taking a leap of faith in yourself.”
