Woman gets mum-shamed for showing off the lavish cot which leaves her baby looking like ‘the most uncomfortable tot’

A WOMAN has found herself brutally mum-shamed after sharing her baby's very posh cot people reckon makes the tot very 'uncomfortable'.

During their first few years, babies need a lot of sleep to give their bodies a chance to grow and develop.

Just like many fellow parents, one mum has decided to opt for a cot - however, it's not just any other cot.

In fact, the princess-style cot is so lavish, it's already gone viral on social media, leaving people totally divided.

Complete with an intricate design, as well as several blush cushions decorated with a floral print, the cot is also laid with what appears to be a silk sheet that's ornamented with shiny sequins.

What's more, the mum, whose identity remains unknown, had also chucked in a medium-sized teddy bear - and just like the rest of the sleeping area, it, too, was sporting a princess-like attire.

In the video, viewers could see that the baby had also been dressed in a lavish outfit, sporting a chic headband with fake flowers, as well as an adorable lace dress in white.

But although the cot may indeed be fit for a royalty, many insisted that not only did the baby look ''uncomfortable'', but that the sleeping place was also unsafe for someone so young and little.

''Safe sleep left the chat,'' one concerned social media fan wrote.

''Poor baby looks uncomfy as sin,'' another chimed in.

''Oh lord, poor wee thing,'' a third penned.

Someone else, meanwhile, thought the clothing material was also not a good choice, writing: ''sorry I think a soft baby grow suit be comfortable than itchy scratching lace.''

Fortunately for the mum, there was also some support from those who hit back at the trolls.

One viewer, for instance, said: ''You all saying poor child, do you prefer those that are left in dirty cribs? This is clearly one very well loved little girl.''

''This aesthetic or nothing,'' another fan of the lavish cot wrote.

But what do the experts say? Should a baby's crib be empty? Or are a few toys safe?

The team at The Lullaby Trust advises that the safest cot is a clear cot - one with no soft toys, cot bumpers and wedges or sleep positioner.

This is because evidence shows that the safest way for a baby to sleep is on a firm flat mattress in a cot that's empty, NCT reported.

The parenting pros warned that even by adding just a few items to the cot, you are increasing the risk of head-covering and other, possibly fatal, accidents.

This is due to the risk of suffocation and/or strangulation, as well as the chance that they could be used to climb on when your baby becomes more mobile, they noted.

When it comes to pillows and duvets, the experts advised to best steer clear of them if your baby is younger than one, as these pose a risk of suffocation. Duvets can also make the baby too hot.
