I’m A Celeb in new ‘sexism’ row as viewers slam star over his treatment of Danielle Harold

I'M A Celebrity is embroiled in a new 'sexism' row after viewers slammed Fred Siriex's comments towards Danielle Harold.

During last night's instalment of the ITV show, Fred, Danielle, Frankie Dettori, Marvin Humes and Josie Gibson took part in The Barbaric Barbershop.

The celebrities had to face their fears by placing their head in a box filled with their worst nightmare (creepy crawlies).

Fred and Marvin had to deal with snakes, while Frankie had cockroaches with him, Danielle dealt with rats and Josie was given spiders.

But it all got too much for This Morning's Josie, and she quickly escaped the box, leaving a massive gap between Danielle and the rest of the gang.

This meant that it was hard for the EastEnders star to communicate with them, and she said to them at one point: "Guys, please can I have some bits, the more I ask the angrier these rats get."

When they returned it was made out that Danielle "struggled" after Josie had said the dreaded "I'm A Celebrity" line.

However those watching at home were very frustrated with those comments.

One said on X: "Did Nigel just assume that the girls struggled? Sexist!"

Another pointed out: "Do not put Danielle down as the ''Girls struggled''. Fred, you could have said not Danielle - she actually rescued you all by coming up with the idea that one person puts all the stars together."

Meanwhile others were not impressed with head chef Fred's comments to Nella and Josie after they cleaned up the dishes.

Another fumed: "Fred saying 'You haven't done a good job'.. how sexist."

This isn't the first time a sexism row has come on during the series.

Nell found herself at the centre of one after viewers slammed her 'discriminatory' comments about men.

The YouTuber told Josie how impressed she was with the work of the men around camp.

She remarked: "So the men are supposed to go out, hunt, get the wood, make the fire, whilst the women keep the vibes."

"Yeah," Josie agreed, while the pair dissolved into laughter.

"That's how it should be," Nella added. "The suffragettes were fighting for this."

One fumed on X: "Imagine if guys were saying that - the girls should be cooking, they would be branded sexist and probably cancelled."

A second added: "Is Nella making a sexist comment? Add that to the list of annoying and stupid stuff she's done."

Tonight fans will see the remaining celebrities taken on their Trial.

In a sneak peek from this evening's instalment, Tony Bellew warns presenters Ant and Dec that he's going to "have a heart attack".

As he waits for Nigel to complete his first lock underground, Tony clocks the huge snake next to him.

He shouts: "Ah this snake is massive. I'm going to have a heart attack."
