I spent the night in my tiny homemade camper van ‘that’s like a little greenhouse on wheels’ and perfect for cooking

ONE man has taken camping to the next level by building a homemade mini campervan that he can cook in.

Camper and YouTuber, Jason, or Quiet Nerd, has revealed his homemade mini camper which even has an electric blanket.

The camper is made of motorised planks of wood covered by a yellow tarpaulin and clear plastic across the front.

But Jason has also built a small generator and is able to power appliances underneath the tarp.

In the 35-minute video, Jason tries to spend an enjoyable night in the woods inside his mini-camper.

"I got the rain dripping down on the little greenhouse enclosure above us and I brought a whole bunch of gear again."

Jason has brought with him a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, gloves and food.

Jason makes a "delicious Miso soup thing" by using a small 750-watt hot plate.

"I imagine by the end of this it's going to be very sweaty and drippy in here," he says.

"This is the first time I have done much camping in the rain, there's no water getting inside other than the moisture from the stove."

He then watches a Lord of the Rings film while enjoying his soup.

"This is really nice, I feel like I needed this," he says.

Jason is then able to spend the night in his camper despite the temperature being near freezing as he is able to charge an electric blanket.

In the morning, he makes waffles and is able to stay warm despite the cool weather.

He says his night in the wood is a "resounding success" as the battery works perfectly.

Commenters had tips for Jason on how he could improve his mini-camper.

"Might wanna treat that wood to protect it from the elements. Also you could build a box on the end for putting your boots in as you get in and out so you're not tracking mud," said one.

"You might think about some ventilation to help with the humidity from your breath and cooking. This is why tents are mesh on top with the rain fly suspended above," said another.

"I think 75% of the camper's body (wall and roof) may now get an upgrade like making something more permanent than a tarp. Your power supply is very capable of handling it," said a third.
