Sainsbury’s van from eBay is transformed into ‘ultimate winter campervan’ – it keeps us toasty in polar temperatures
A COUPLE who transformed an old Sainsbury's van into the "ultimate winter campervan" now happily travel the world.
Jessica Horn and Jon Paine ditched their traditional lives in Norfolk this year and made the bold jump into vanlife.
The pair, who left their jobs as a community development worker and mechanic, bagged the old food delivery truck from eBay for just £10,000.
After forking out another £14,884, they had completely gutted and renovated the vehicle into the perfect camper - in just eight weeks.
Jessica told NeedtoKnow: "We love travelling in campers and building them.
“One thing that is on our bucket list is to travel in the 'real winter' to experience a proper snowy Christmas and everything that goes with it.

“So, we set out on a mission to build the ultimate winter campervan.
“A van that can withstand, and keep us warm, in polar temperatures and give us plenty of space to feel cosy and comfy on the long cold winter nights."
The Sainsbury's delivery van proved to be the perfect choice.
“We figured that being insulated enough to be a refrigerator, it should be able to do the opposite and keep the cold out and keep us toasty and warm inside," the 34-year-old added.
The happy camper boasted how "spacious and cosy" their new home feels, comparing it to a "little cabin".
Jess and Jon are now looking forward to making their way to Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Germany - for the legendary Christmas markets.
“We had so much fun building the van, although it was tiring as we worked on it every day, all day for eight weeks," Jessica added.
“The biggest challenge was probably the weather.
“As we spent quite a lot of time working on the outside of the van, including removing and respraying the body, the weather made that quite difficult sometimes.”
The couple are sharing their journey on social media, @trueblue_travellers, where people are always amazed at the lifestyle.
This comes as thousands of people are making the same lifestyle change and switching to life on the road.
With soaring bills and the cost of living on the rise, many are looking towards vanlife.
Including a family of eight who are living it up in a converted double decker bus - complete with luxury shower, washing machine and sun trap roof deck.
Dane Eyerley and wife Deena haven't looked back since bundling their belongings, and six kids, into the home on wheels as they travel around the US.
Meanwhile, Joey, known as Joey The Nomad made the bold move to leave his home behind and embark on his journey around North America in 'Vangelina Jolie'.
Plus, a couple who were fed up with the rat race of their "mundane" lives decided to pack up and jump into vanlife.
Dave and Emily felt disillusioned with the monotonous routine of waking up early, stressing about work, and skyrocketing bills.
After lockdown in 2021 forced them to be together more, the fed-up pair realised just how much time they spent stressed and apart before - despite living under the same roof.
They made the brave decision to stick their house on the market and buy a minivan they named Mavis.
And, a man who made the bold move said he loves the freedom of going off-grid - and escaping the cost of living crisis.
