Steve Halliwell’s poignant and funny final Emmerdale scene as actor passes away at 77
STEVE Halliwell's Zak Dingle character was his usual self in what is now his final ever Emmerdale scene.
The soap star, who played the iconic role for 29 years, tragically died on Friday aged 77.
As tributes from his devastated co-stars pour in on social media as news of his sad passing spreads, his final scene has resurfaced.
Steve was last seen in the Dales in June 2023 as he drove his mobility scooter through the village.
Liam Fox's character Dan Spencer had spotted him whizzing around and referred to him as Evel Knievel, jokingly asking if Zak had run over any busses lately.
"Well I've got my hands full, dodging these potholes," he humorously replied.

Laughing, he added: "I think I'll give the ring of fire a miss for today."
Mechanic Dan then told him how it was great to see him out and about.
Earlier this year viewers had watched as Belle Dingle became increasingly worried for Steve Halliwell's character Zak.
His health had started deteriorating, which forced him into the mobility scooter.
Announcing Steve Halliwell's death, a spokesperson for Emmerdale said: "It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that Emmerdale can confirm that Steve Halliwell, our beloved Zak Dingle, has peacefully passed away.
"All our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones through this very difficult time, and we’d request that their privacy is respected as they grieve for his loss.
"Steve will forever be synonymous with Emmerdale. The proud defender and head of the Dingle family. Heart and humour in all he did, it has been and always will be impossible not to smile when you think of him."
