This hack is perfect for anyone who isn’t green-fingered, as it relies on some clever rearranging rather than your gardening skills.

Originally shared on Facebook, this nifty tip comes from the DIY on a Budget group and shows how easily you can beautify your space with this DIY planter.

In fact, you will probably have the items you need lurking in your garden shed as this hack requires five plastic tubs (various sizes), some old paint and some extra soil.

Having gathered together the tools, you’ll then need to carefully stack your plant pots to create the arrangement.

Starting with the biggest tub, you’ll need to put a standard size plant pot face down inside before carefully balancing another on top.

Repeat the process with two more smaller tubs, checking to see whether you are happy with your design or want to add more.

Once you have figured out the basic arrangement, you can then disassemble it and apply the paint to each of your pots.

After roughly a few hours, they should be dry to the touch and you can use a sharp screwdriver to add drainage holes to the base of each pot.

It is then time to reassemble your planter and add soil as you go to keep the tubs in place.

Finally, it is time to add your flowers with DIY on a Budget using store-bought pansies and purple daisies in their viral video.

The clip even showed them adding plants after the base of the tubs to brighten a small space or flowerbed.

While most of us haven’t gotten out into the garden just yet, members in the Facebook group were keen to try this nifty hack for themselves.

“That is great, love it,” gushed one impressed viewer, with another adding: “Love that is so beautiful.”

Others revealed that they’d already tried the craft for themselves and were impressed with the results.

“I have one finished and the other half way, I’ll finish with it this evening,” revealed a third amateur gardener, as some Facebook users shared photos of their DIY planters.

Meanwhile, there were some that questioned how cost-effective the DIY was – especially if you had to go out and buy the supplies.

“How is this on a budget?” complained a fourth, adding: “Pots are pricey! This takes 5 pots! It's cheaper to just buy a tiered planter all done. But, this is cute. At least it's custom.”
