MAKING a healthy dinner doesn't have to take a lot of your time or effort.
A food expert shared her quick and easy air fryer recipe with her followers.
Mayra Wendolyne (@lowcarblove) demonstrated the low-carb dish that she ate during her weight loss journey, which saw her lose 100 pounds.
"Alright guys, so I’m back with another 20-minute meal idea, this is teriyaki chicken in the air fryer," the TikToker said in her video,
She began by chopping up "chicken breast, bacon, and chicken thighs."
Mayra recommended adding "whatever you have on hand" to your dish.
"We have some red onion, zucchini, jalapenos for spice, and red bell pepper," she told her viewers.
She also added various spices and seasonings to elevate the flavor of the meal.
"Add a little toasted garlic, this adds so much flavor," Mayra explained to her audience.
"I’m doing a little onion powder and garlic powder and some salt and pepper."
She also substituted soy sauce for coconut aminos to keep the meal gluten-free.
Mayra also added a sugar-free honey "to balance everything out" and toasted sesame oil for flavor.
She also added a splash of sriracha sauce before giving the ingredients "a good mix."
"Finish it off with a little avocado oil and we’re going to air fry this for 15 minutes," she said.
Steps To Make Air Fryer Chicken Teriyaki
- Chop up chicken thighs, breast, and bacon and add to your air fryer
- Add diced red onion, zucchini, jalapenos, and red bell pepper
- Flavor with toasted garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
- Mix coconut aminos, sugar-free honey, sesame oil, sriracha sauce, and avocado oil
- Air fry for 15 minutes
- Add chopped green onion and sesame seeds
As a finishing touch, Mayra added chopped green onion and sesame seeds.
After tasting the meal, she described it as "better than takeout."
