I’m a dermatologist – three skincare ingredients you need if you want to reverse wrinkles, you can forget hydration
WHEN it comes to skincare- there's plenty of ingredients that promise to banish wrinkles.
But one dermatologist has revealed the exact three anti-ageing ingredients that will actually work and despite popular belief it has nothing to do with hydration.
Taking to social media, Dr. Christ Tomassian ranked the six best ingredients to help reverse the signs of ageing - putting the least effective at the bottom.
Using a pyramid system, the dermatologist began to unveil the covered ingredients from least to most effective.
Ripping off the first piece of paper, the skincare pro ranked hyaluronic acid as the least effective ingredient to banish wrinkles miming the pyramid system from the reality TV show Dance Moms.
While hyaluronic acid helps keep the skin hydrated and boost elasticity - he revealed there were other ingredients that worked much better.

Next, on the list were peptides - which can help with fine lines but work best in conjunction with more active ingredients.
Alpha hydroxy acid (commonly known as AHA) was also on the bottom of the pile when it comes to reversing the signs of ageing.
The chemical exfoliant helps improve skin texture and fine lines - but there's another product that Dr. Tomassian rates more.
Now getting onto the three products that will make a huge difference to your wrinkles - the beauty pro recommended using vitamin C.
This holy grail ingredient can help boost collagen to prevent wrinkles and brighten the skin for a youthful glow.
Next on the list was SPF, which we all know is imperative to protecting our skin from the sun - the worst contributor to ageing.
Last but not least, the dermatologist ranked retinol as the most effective ingredient to getting rid of wrinkles.
There's a multitude of reasons retinol is so good for the skin - from increasing cell production, exfoliation, banishing dark marks, acne and increasing collagen production.
"Rating #antiaging ingredients," he captioned the post.
The clip has since gone viral over on the doctor's TikTok account @dr.tomassian with over 770k views and 22k likes.
People were quick to take to the comments and many agreed with his ranking.
One person wrote: "The holy trinity: retinol, SPF, and vitamin C."
Another commented: "I KNEWWW RETINOL WAS GONNA BE UP THERE, you taught me well."
"Sunscreen is king," penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "I use all of them. And yes I look younger than my age."
"Yeeeees! These 3 ingredients are my best friends,” claimed a fifth.
