Skin Surgeon Dr. Neera (@dermatologysurgeon) shares hair and beauty advice online that fits many needs.

From hair growth tips to skincare tricks, she touches on it all.

She shared an unknown skin secret in a TikTok video that affects many people and is completely free.

If you've ever suffered from bad acne and wished it went away quickly, you may want to think twice about that.

According to the Harvard-trained dermatologist, it's a sign that you will age better and slower.

She explained this in further detail in the video caption.

"A study in a top dermatology journal showed that people with acne have longer telomeres, meaning they may age better and slower than people without acne," she wrote.

She alluded in a subtitle that her patients are normally stunned and don't believe her when she tells them that.

She joked about it as two people went back and forth with commentary in the video's background audio.

"Shut up! It is not," the first said, while the second replied, "Yes, it is."

Dr. Neera added in the caption that another reason why people with acne may age slower is because of increased sebum or oil production.

"I have the OILIEST SKIN ON THE PLANET! Not a single wrinkle on my face at 32," a viewer agreed in a comment.

"This is true. My skin is soo oily. my friends have wrinkles and I hardly have any. Me 45," another added.

The skincare pro replied to a TikTok user's comment that oily skin may decrease wrinkles but the study showed a benefit in the DNA of people with acne.
