Who is Shakira Khan?

Shakira Khan is a 22-year-old model who hails from Manchester.

She has passed the audition process to be in the running to join the cast of Love Island 2025.

However, the show's bosses are yet to make their final decision on the starting line-up for this year.

Shakira's work reportedly takes her all over the world for fashion shoots, which she frequently shares glimpses of with her followers on social media.

Her Instagram profile is jam-packed with gorgeous travel shots from locations including Haiti, Dubai and New York.

Shakira’s posts blend high-fashion imagery with candid glimpses of her travels and everyday life.

A source said: “Shakira is jaw-droppingly gorgeous and will land a place in Love Island’s history books as a real beauty.

“Execs are finalising who will be in the OG line-up and who will be a bombshell, but Shakira is in the mix.

“And viewers will be hoping she’s there to stay.”

Love Island 2025 start date

Love Island 2025 will start at 9pm on Monday, June 9, when Maya Jama will welcome a host of new contestants into the villa.

As usual, the show starts on ITV2 the week following the Late May Bank Holiday — a Love Island tradition.

In a trailer for the latest series, Maya called for more 'twists and turns', saying: "This year Love Island needs something bigger, something bolder, I want ideas.

"This year I want more drama, more bombshells, more break-ups, more makeups.

"I want more twists, I want more twists than ever."

The presenter, who flew out to Mallorca on May 26, 2025, shared a snap of six suitcases and three bags before heading to the airport.

Posting on Instagram once she had landed, Maya shared videos of herself dancing along with the caption: “On holiday until I start Love Island.”

Maya spills the beans

Maya also spilled the beans on what she has learned so far about the 2025 series.

She told her TikTok followers: "Do I even know who the Islanders are?

"Do I know what time and date I'm flying to Mallorca? No, but guess what?

"We are so back. We are so f***ing back. I'm really excited, guys. The sun is out!"

She added: "Summer Love Island's about to happen.

"They released a little advert. It ain't even the real advert yet. I can smell it in the air.

"A bunch of new cuties are about to enter that villa. Your 9pm's will be gone. You will be locked in!"

Confirming the fate of Love Island's spin-off show Aftersun, Maya also revealed: "And I am so ready. AfterSun's back.

"I just got a really big wave of excitement. I can't wait.

"Make sure you're there, because I will be in my little outfits.

"I don't know why I say little. Big outfits, saucy outfits, new waves, new vibes, new energy. But either way, don't miss it.

"Because if you do, nothing will happen to you, but just lock in."
