Major UK supermarket launches posh hotel experience for mum’s this Mother’s Day – but you’ll have to be quick
A MAJOR UK supermarket has launched a posh hotel experience for mum's this Mother's Day - but you'll have to be quick.
Morrisons has announced the return of its popular Afternoon Tea for two for just £15 ahead of Mother’s Day.
Customers can share a selection of sandwiches, cakes, quiche, fruit scones – complete with British strawberry jam and clotted cream with their mum or supporting female throughout Mother's Day week.
Highlights from the offer include a Cheese & Onion Quiche (new to the afternoon tea this year), a Salted Caramel Chocolate Brownie, Smoked Ham and Egg & Cress Sandwiches and Butterfly Cakes.
Also included in the package are two refillable hot drinks and of course vegetarian options are also available.
At just £7.50 per person, Morrisons Afternoon Tea is a fraction of the price compared to other Mother’s Day experiences and gift days out.
Mothers Day
Becky Wilson, Cafe and Brew Buyer at Morrisons, said: “Spoiling and spending time with mum on this momentous day shouldn’t have to break the bank.
"That’s why we’re helping our customers by bringing back our popular Afternoon Tea for two at a purse pleasing price, for all of Mother’s Day week.
"We look forward to welcoming families into our Cafés to celebrate.”
The special treat is available in all its Cafés from Monday 24th March to Sunday 30th March.
The Sun also reported on the number of different ways shoppers can help make their mum feel special on Mother's Day.
Follow these tips — and show how much you care, without needing to spend lots of cash.
Make tea more of an event by brewing tea in a pot (as opposed to a mug) for the best taste and you can then use it to top up all guests.
Loose leaves are often more flavoursome than tea bags and Ikea has a glass teapot, £10, with an integrated infuser that will do the job.
A glass of fizz makes the experience feel a little more luxurious. A bottle of prosecco spumante is £5.45 at Lidl.
You don’t need to lay on lots of different varieties of sandwiches to make things appear special.
