I live in a council house but no one can tell due to my ‘gorgeous’ interior -it’s thanks to cheap items from The Range

A COUNCIL tenant has shared that people can't believe she lives in social housing due to her home's "gorgeous" interior.

Her videos are very popular with social media users and she has racked up over 22,000 followers on the video sharing platform.

In one video, the mum of two shared what her house looked like before she unleashed her DIY skills on the place.

The caption to her video read: "Making a house a home", and text on the screen said: "When you live in a council house but love interior design and DIY".

The house looks extremely run down, with paint peeling off the walls, tired wooden floorboards and outdated net curtains.

In just six months, Mich completely transformed the place and it now looks unrecognisable.

And the best part? It's all decked out in budget buys.

In the hallway, there is a gorgeous circular mirror from The Range, and Mich has used silver foil strips to create a stylish pattern on the wall.

In the dining room there is a glass table paired with chic grey chairs from Argos and an elegant glass chandelier hangs from the ceiling.

Her stairs are covered with grey carpet, with tiny spotlights from Amazon stuck of the stairs.

In the living room, there is a large sprawling grey rug covering most of the floor, and dotted around the house are a selection of fake plants from Ikea and B&M.

In another video, Mich revealed that nobody can tell she lives in a council house due to her fabulous renovation.

Mich said that anyone can make their council house into a home, you just need to budget.

She added that she plans to buy the house one day and should get a discount because of how much work she has done to renovate the place.

Mich's video has clearly left many impressed, as her video has racked up over 1.4 million views.

TikToker's raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on the council house renovation.

One user said: "Just because we live in social housing doesn't mean we can't make it look good.

"You have great taste, amazing work."

Another user said: "Absolutely beautiful! I'd pay you to do some interior design for my home.

"You should set up a business, your house is gorgeous."

A third user said: "Gorgeous, well done".

Council houses are provided by local authorities to those in need.

They are often cheaper than renting private housing and can also offer greater security from eviction.

Council houses are allocated to prospective tenants via a points based system, with those in greater need given homes first.

The council will contact you about an available property when you are high enough up the waiting list.
