In the TikTok, Lidia explained that after she got married, her dad converted his garage into a flat for her and her husband to live in so that they could save up to buy a house of their own.

The caption to the video states: "So grateful for this tiny home, and of course to my parents for building it".

Lidia's garage conversion has everything she and her husband need, including an adorable tiny kitchen, a bathroom and a master bedroom.

The garage follows the "cottage core" aesthetic, and is filled with adorable cream kitchen cabinets, hanging plants, and lots of wooden knick knacks.

The TikToker and her husband appear to be very happy in their tiny home.

Lidia said: "One thing I love about being neighbours with my parents is that we have our privacy, but we also get to visit them."

She added that when she an her partner move out, she will really miss having her mum and dad so close by.

Lidia said that she feels like she has made the garage into a home and believes that is has turned out incredibly "cute".

As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, more and more adults are struggling to get on the property ladder and are choosing to live in their family home for longer.

The 2021 census revealed that over half of people aged 23 and under still live with their parents.

The average price of a house in the UK was £285,000 as of March 2023, and this rises to a whopping £735,254, which is completely unaffordable for many.

Moreover, research from the Resolution Foundation found that the average first time buyer deposit tripled from 5% of the property price in 1989 to 15% in 2019.

This means that buyers have to save for far longer and use up a larger percentage of their earnings to get on the property ladder.

Recent research by property site Zoopla found that 42% of adults under 40 who do not already own homes have given up, due to the astronomical cost of buying a property.

This included 38% of people earning over £60,000 (almost double the average salary for the UK).

Lidia's video has clearly left many impressed, as it has racked up over 30,000 views.

TikTok users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on Lidia's garage.

One user said: "Tiny beautiful home".
