I live in a tiny home in the woods built out of a shed – it was cheaper than a house & is more spacious than I thought
A WOMAN has revealed that she lives in a tiny home in the woods that she built out of a garden shed.
Deborah McDonald, who is from Canada, explained that it was much cheaper than buying a house or alternatively, a trailer, and it’s much more spacious than you might think.
Posting on social media, Deborah gave her followers a close-up look at her beautiful but small ‘cabin in the woods’ home.
She wrote: “This is our tiny home in the woods.
“We built it out of a 12 x 32 garden shed.
“It cost under $30,000 Canadian dollars [£17,860] to finish.

“It was more affordable than buying a new trailer.
“We did all the work ourselves.
“The best money we have ever spent.”
Deborah later confirmed: “We were very lucky we had land to put it on.
“I am so happy we decided to do it.
“I wanted it open and as big as I could get out of the little space I had.
“It was very simple to do and is wonderful to have. If I can do it, you can too.”
The savvy saver explained that she does have a bathroom, but no plumbing, as she confirmed: “We have electricity but no plumbing.
“We have a chemical/compost type toilet and an outhouse.
“It’s on our land we owned prior, close to the mountains.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @bvintagestyle, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed over 38,000 likes.
Social media uses were stunned at the tiny home and were eager to express this in the comments.
One person said: “It’s so beautiful and tranquil. You did an amazing job.”
Another added: “It’s sooo nice! It doesn't look very tiny either!”
To this, Deborah replied: “Yes we love the layout. It gave us more space than we expected.”
A third commented: “This is absolutely outstanding.”
At the same time, someone else asked: “Is this more affordable than renting a house/apartment? I’d love to move in with my bf after college & this is so dreamy I’m so interested.”
In response, Deborah claimed: “Yes I would say for sure it is. We did the whole unit for under $30K [£17k] but there is no plumbing in it and we already had the land.”
