A TRAVEL expert has revealed the exact 24-hour window to travel to save the most money.
Millions of holidaymakers across the globe took to the skies to visit family at Christmas and New Year - and it's not too late to nab a bargain.
Sean Tipton, an expert from Abta travel agents, told Sun Online prices plummet on January 4.
He told Sun Online: "Travelling until January 3 is very expensive but if you come back on the January 4, or 5, the prices drop dramatically.
"There are specific days. They massively effect the cost."
Mr Tipton revealed Brits' favourite travel destinations this winter.

He said: "Travellers are either looking for a traditional white Christmas, and they'll go to the Alps in Europe, or maybe Scandinavia, or the reverse.
"They're exclusively going to the Canary Islands - it's one of their peak periods in January and February.
The busiest days of travel around New Years are December 29 and 30, he revealed.
When booking a one-way flight to Geneva through British Airways, which Sean suggested was popular, a trip on January 2 would set passengers back £346.
But the same flight on January 4 comes down a huge amount to just £152.
Another major airline, easyJet, showed a similar trend with the same flight on January 2 costing £221 and plummeting to £145 two days later.
