Mango X Victoria Beckham collection has finally dropped and it’s selling fast – this is what to buy

VICTORIA BECKHAM has sent fans into a frenzy, and not only because of her 50th birthday celebrations, which saw her sing and dance with her Spice Girls band members but because of her latest collaboration with high street label Mango, Mango X Victoria Beckham.

Mango gives a more premium label feel than its high street counterparts - and the Mango X Victoria Beckham collection is its most high-end offering yet.

You may be just as surprised as we are that Posh Spice has collaborated with Mango for the Mango X Victoria Beckham collection, but we can't deny we love the pieces and we really, really want... every item in the limited edition capsule.

The 54-piece collection is very VB, as it includes tailored suits, sky-high stilettos, figure-hugging dresses, muted colour palettes, and of course, stunning silhouettes.

The collection varies in price from £50 for a lace bralette up to £300 for a tiered trench coat.

The collaboration has been inspired by the 1969 movie La Piscine starring Jane Birkin, and the 70s style for an elegant and timeless collection.

While expensive, we'd argue the capsule warrants a higher price point, at least we think so, because of the high-quality fabrics used.

Pleated suit trousers

Pleated suit trousers, £115

Pleated Suit Trousers are a favourite of ours, and an item that should be in every shopper's capsule wardrobe because they are smart yet comfortable.

These linen trousers feature a cotton lining, which not only provides the necessary coverage but also provides more of a structured finish that we love.

The trousers also feature dart detail for added structure, as well as a concealed button, hook and zip fastening, all subtle details but ones that make these trousers look more premium.

We would wear it in the day or night, with the matching blazer for a full co-ord set, with a crisp t-shirt, or satin blouse, and pair it with flat sandals, trainers, or heels, depending on the occasion.

Victoria Beckham's collection features a variety of trouser styles, so if you are only shopping for one pair, this straight design would be our style of choice as they are uber-flattering for all body shapes.

Semi-transparent combined body silk dress

It's very VB

It's very VBCredit: Mango

Semi-transparent combined body silk dress, £210

Posh Spice was famed for wearing LBD's, but as she has pursued a successful fashion career we have seen the mogul in more maxi designs, including silk maxi dresses similar to this.

However, Victoria Beckham has bucked the trend with the popular - and arguably over-saturated - satin slip dress market, as she has designed a creation that is a hybrid between silk and a transparent skirt for an uber-sexy design.

This creation may just be our favourite piece in the line, as it is super flattering, easy to wear, simple to style, and looks so elegant.

The dress is made from a silk and elastane blend, with added lining for some coverage, though the majority of the maxi skirt is sheer.

Wool-blend suit jacket

You can never have too many blazers

Wool-blend suit jacket, £180

We love a blazer, or a smart suit jacket, whichever you prefer to name it.

Some may wear with matching trousers to complete the suit set and wear to the office with boots, loafers, pumps, or trainers, though others may save for an evening out with a slip skirt and heels.

Made from virgin wool and polyester blend for thick structure and extra warmth, it does have an inner lining, which makes this straight design simply stunning.

It also boasts a v-neck collar, is long sleeve and features two front pockets, as well as an adjustable belt should you wish to cinch in your frame for a more flattering hourglass silhouette, instead of the boxy design.

This suit jacket is perfectly paired over jeans and a t-shirt for an off-duty look, over a slip skirt, or dress, even the crochet dress in the collection, and heels for a classy evening out.

The suit jacket is available in sizes extra small to large, and we would recommend staying true to size as it has been designed to be slightly oversized.

Godets dress with decorative stitching

Godest dress with decorative stitching, £170

The only way to describe the Godest dress is ethereal.

If you are fed up with having a monochrome wardrobe, inject some colour into it with the pale pink design (though this dress also comes in black too).

One thing we have noticed about Victoria's new collection is some designs are similar to popular styles we are familiar with, such as the satin slip maxi dress, but she has reinvented them.

While this design hugs the body like a slip dress, it floats out, and the decorative stitching and panelling, particularly in the skirt, creates volume, an extra dimension, and almost a waterfall front and back finish, which also works to provide coverage and pull the dress away from the body so it is not so still, or clingy.

The stitching detail in the body of the dress also adds character, which we love.

The v-plunge and low back detail are uber feminine, and the spaghetti straps are adjustable with a tie fastening, instead of clasps, or any metallic hooks, which is another detail we think elevates this design even more.

We would wear this to any special occasion, particularly as a wedding guest, with heels of course.

Crochet dress with open back

Crochet = summer dressing

Crochet dress with open back, £115

We love crochet, but it is a fabric we only really see in the summer months.

The crochet dress is maxi length, has a round neck and long sleeves, but also boasts an open back, which is super feminine.

The crochet fabric makes this dress partially see-through, so you can layer it over a bikini or swimsuit when at the beach club this summer, or wear it with your underwear underneath.

We predict this dress will sell out due to popular demand because it is super flattering, and feminine and allows the wearer to get a little creative with their styling too.

Draped halter bodysuit

Bodysuits are back

Draped halter bodysuit, £80

Bodysuits come in and out of fashion, but this draped halter bodysuit looks super luxe.

The design comes in black and white colours, which you can wear with jeans, a skirt, or formal trousers, and layered under a blazer too if you need some extra warmth.

The top appears in panels almost, as the smoother fabric bordering the neckline and sides, is sandwiched between a ruched panel.

This detail adds texture, ensures the fabric conceals your chest, AND prevents the fabric from being glued tight to your skin, like other bodysuits, which is great for those who are conscious of their stomach area.

The halterneck design is always flattering, alongside the open back detail, which is also super feminine.

Pleat straight trousers

Pleat straight trousers, £115

As we mentioned previously Victoria Beckham's Mango collection includes a variety of trousers, and these Pleat Straight Trousers are another favourite of ours.

These trousers are made from a cotton and linen blend, so they are slightly more structured than the aforementioned design and are a mid-weight design, which some may prefer instead of lightweight linen.

The long-length trousers are a straight cut, they feature two side pockets, as well as belt loop detail, just in case you wish to accessorize with a belt.

The dart down the front of the trouser makes these look super formal, but also flatter the shape so they don't look wide leg and give the illusion of stretching out the body, but instead work to streamline the legs for a longer, slimmer, look.

The trousers are available to shop in UK dress sizes 6 to 14.

100% cotton long trench coat

Spring and summer means it is time for trench coats

100% cotton long trench coat, £300

We love a trench coat, and it is one garment we would include in our capsule collection, especially when swapping from your winter wardrobe to your spring/summer closet.

This trench coat is made from 100% cotton, so it is lightweight, breathable, and super soft.

The straight design makes this perfect for all body shapes and sizes, while the layered back and adjustable waist tie belt work to add volume to the relaxed look, and also stand it out from a crowd of camel trenches.

This design boasts a v-neck, is long sleeve, and features two side pockets, as well as an asymmetric hem and back slit, which we like as it means you have coverage in the length, particularly at the back of the coat, but without being overwhelmed with lots of fabric.

Suit waistcoat with open back

An alternative to the popular blazer

Suit waistcoat with open back, £140

Waistcoats have become hugely popular in recent years, they can be worn on their own as a top, as part of a three-piece suit, or instead of a long sleeve blazer, which is why this design is worth investing in.

Made from a linen mix blend this waistcoat is lightweight, breathable, structured yet soft, and not too rigid.

It has been cut in a straight fit and features shoulder pads, so it looks oversized instead of the more fitted cropped creations we have seen from other rival high street brands.

This waistcoat is sleeveless - hence the name - and features side pockets.

But the best part is this waistcoat has an open back, which is super flattering and turns this formal design into something a little more playful.

The back opening is almost like a pentagon shape, and there is a back tie fastening so you can keep the straight fit, or cinch in tighter to hug the body.

The v-neckline is mirrored by the v-split base of the waistcoat, which not only shows off your figure but also whatever you are wearing underneath.

Pair with the rest of the matching co-ord, or layer over a satin slip skirt or jeans.

Suit jacket with adjustable back strap

Simply gorgeous

Suit jacket with adjustable back strap, £180

The linen mix suit jacket is another favourite of ours, as it is oversized, and gives major Frankie Shop vibes.

This jacket boasts a straight design, but, similar to other items in Victoria Beckham's Mango Drop it also features an adjustable back ribbon detail, which can be tightened, or worn loosely, and can alter the shape of the jacket.

If you wear loosely you will maintain the straight boxy look of the suit jacket, but cinch in a little and you will have a more fitted blazer - it's the two-in-one blazer we never knew we needed.

The suit jacket features a v-neck lapel, long sleeves, as well as shoulder pad detailing, which is a nod to the 70s era that Victoria drew inspiration on for this collection.

It can be paired with matching suit trousers, tailored shorts, a slip skirt, or, if long enough, worn on its own with heels for a glam evening out.

Contrast semi-transparent silk shirt

Contrast semi-transparent silk shirt, £140

Victoria Beckham's Mango collection features a variety of shirts, as well as blazers and trousers.

There are opaque silk shirts to shop perfect for the office, and other more formal occasions, as well as sheer designs, which we have a soft spot for.

If you are looking for a playful date night look we would opt for a sheer design layered over a lace or satin bralette. Pair this with leather trousers, shorts, a skirt, jeans, or more formal trousers.

If you want some extra coverage simply layer over a smart blazer.

The silk fabric is more luxurious than other tencel or tulle designs we have previously worn, which can be irritating when worn close to the skin.

100% linen cropped trench coat

A short-cropped version of a trench coat is always a good idea

100% linen cropped trench coat, £180

The Cropped Trench Coat is an alternative to the longer-length design we previously mentioned, and it is also a favourite of ours.

In some cases, a long trench coat may feel like a lot of fabric, or may not complement the outfit you are wearing, which is when a cropped design is favourable.

This linen design is lightweight, and perfect for layering over almost anything, whether it is a blouse or shirt, vest or t-shirt, or even a fine rich girl cardigan.

You can style it with jeans, trousers, or skirts, it truly is that versatile.

What we love about this design is it is boxy, and adds volume and shape to any look.

It features large lapels, as well as balloon-like sleeves, and bow tie fastening on the cuffs, extra details that make this design a stand-out garment in any outfit.

Asymmetrical crochet skirt

We want it!

Asymmetrical crochet skirt, £105

The Crochet Skirt is another firm favourite of ours from Victoria Beckham's new line - we simply can't stop thinking about it, and the many ways we would wear it this season.

The Crochet Skirt is a welcome alternative to the crochet dress, though we prefer it because it allows more scope to style as you wish and get creative.

The cotton crochet skirt is super soft on the skin, it is textured and partially see-through, but not super lightweight either.

The sheer design is on trend right now, as over the winter months we saw the fashion firm sport see-through lace skirts and trousers with an oversized blazer, now that style has been adapted with a more spring/summer fabric - crochet.

The skirt also boasts an elastic waist so you can slip it on, and hoist it up to be high-waisted or low-rise, depending on your preference.

For festivals, this skirt would be perfect with a pair of Dr Martens, or cowboy boots, a slogan t-shirt and a fringed jacket.

Similar to the crochet dress you could layer over your underwear, or layer over shorts, a mini slip skirt, or a longer-length slip skirt for coverage.

Silk lace top

Silk lace top, £90

This silk lace top is stunning, as it borders nightwear style with nods to neglige.

If you are like us and are fed up with wearing t-shirts, tank tops, bodysuits and camis, this silk lace top is a welcome alternative.

You can pair it with the matching silk shorts and an oversized blazer, or partner it with jeans, smart trousers, or even a satin slip skirt and heels, depending on the occasion.

The silk fabric has been combined with elastane to provide some stretch and features a feminine sweetheart neckline hugged by a delicate lace hem.

It is a straight design, perfect for all body types as you do not have to fear about wearing a figure-hugging, and sometimes exposing, bodysuit.

The spaghetti straps may not be adjustable but the button front fastening can be, so if you want to button up full, or undo some near the navel for a looser fit, you can do so.

Leather sandal with inclined heel

Leather sandal with inclined heel, £140

When we think of high-heel stilettos we often think about Victoria Beckham, or rather Posh Spice during her Spice Girls years.

The Leather sandals in the Victoria Beckham x Mango collection are similar, but a deconstructed take on the classic open-toe heeled sandal, thanks to the inverted heel.

Made from 100% leather, these heels are super chic and perfect for any night out.

They boast a 10.5cm heel, come in three colours, including black, cream and burgundy, and while they have straps across the toe and bridge of the foot, they are a slip-on with no fastenings.

If you feel a little unsteady on your feet in heels anyway, these may not be the best footwear choice for you, but we love them.
