Since his last appearance, Matt was in a motorbike accident, which resulted in having one of his legs amputated below the knee.
Matt didn’t let this hold him back as he became the first amputee to complete the obstacle course.
It came down to his final obstacle on the course, the warped wall.
During the emotional moment, he was cheered on by everyone in the stadium.
Matt struggled to get up the wall on his first go, but he regained his composure and beat the wall on his second try.
After pulling himself up onto the podium, Ben celebrated with his opponent and removed his prosthetic leg and raised it above his head before he threw it onto the floor.
Gushing over this record-breaking achievement, host Ben, 49, said: “What Matt’s just done is incredible.
“Matt is the first ever amputee in the world to beat the warped wall,” he announced.
Matt was overwhelmed by the achievement and broke down in tears before making a speech about how far he’s come.
He said: “For me this has been a long time coming and I knew that I’d get emotional. I didn’t know at what point, but it took me two goes and in Season 3 when I did it, it took me two goes and I had two legs.”
“Matt, what you have shown us is beyond heroic. You are a true hero,” Ben replied.
