Opening the video, Lucy said: "I'm outside Aldi, let's go and see what Christmas meal I can cook up tonight."

The first things that Lucy placed in her trolley were some carrots, cabbage, sprouts and parsnips all of which have been reduced to 15p in the lead up to Christmas.

She then grabbed two large potatoes, which were 23p each.

To accompany her veg, Lucy picked up two packs of pigs in blankets, which cost just £1.99 each.

She then headed to the till where the cashier told her the total was just £5.04.

After heading home Lucy began to cook up her pigs in blanket traybake.

She chopped up all of her veg and added it to a casserole dish along with the pigs in blankets.

She then made 500 ml of beef stock, mixed in some rosemary and poured it on top of the meat and veg.

Lucy popped the dish in the oven for 40 minutes and hey presto, a simple Christmas meal at a budget price.

After the dish was plated up, Lucy's partner Mark gave a review of the meal.

He said: "That is gorgeous, it's really nice. And the best thing about it is that the veg is only 15 pence!"

TikTok user rushed to the video's comments section to praise Lucy for her budget Christmas dish.

One user said: "Ooh that looks absolutely beautiful. Save me a plate, I'm coming round!"

Another user added: "Omg that looks amazing! That's my kind of meal".

A third user added: "A lovely hearty meal for cheap."
