Xmas shoppers left in chaos as popular Aldi perfume bottle recalled – but people are fuming as they’ve already gifted it

CHRISTMAS shoppers have been left in chaos after Aldi recalled one of its widely-gifted perfume bottles.

Brits who have wrapped and gifted the Lacura Cozmo bottles are now worried the presents will shatter once opened.

The German supermarket, famed for its beauty dupes, recalled the Lacura Cozmo for Him Eau de Parfum and Cozmo for Her Eau de Parfum yesterday.

A statement reads: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling the products due to a fault with the product packaging which can cause it to break.

“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.”

However, a number of Brits have already wrapped the perfume and gifted it to loved ones to put under their tree.

“I’ve already given this as a gift,” one said.

“It’s too late to get it back now.”

“I have already gifted these,” another penned on Facebook

“I’ll have to let the person know it’s not safe.”

Shoppers have theorised that the bottles are “exploding” because the glass is “so thin”.

The bottles are packaged in a cardboard box with an opening at the front, leaving them more prone to damage.

According to Samantha Hurrell, the issue was flagged a few days ago.

“I do remember a few days ago at least one person saying they had an issue with the bottle,” she said.

“Clearly it was far more widespread than that.”

The Lacura Cozmo for Him Eau de Parfum and Cozmo for Her Eau de Parfum hit shelves on 10th December, each priced at £6.99.

The scents were dubbed Paco Rabbane dupes, with Aldi bosses saying shoppers could save £87 compared to the designer brand.

After being on sale for 11 days, the supermarket had received enough reports of faulty products that it pulled the perfumes from circulation.
