Two women in the MG, aged in their 40s and 70s, sadly couldn't be saved and were declared dead at the scene.

Four other people including the baby were rushed to hospital.

The BMW driver left the horror but was arrested shortly after on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He remains in hospital but will be quizzed by cops in due course, West Midlands Police confirmed.

The force also arrested a man on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Officers are still hunting the quad bike rider and have urged them to come forward.

Det Sgt Julie Lyman, from the serious collision investigation unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the families who have been affected by this awful collision.

"It remains vital that we fully establish exactly what happened with all the vehicles involved, so I’d ask the rider of the quad bike to get in touch as I believe you are a key witness to the tragic events which have occurred.”

Anyone with information has been asked to call police on 101 quoting 2873 of 26/12/23.
