I tried ‘gross’ new Saltburn bathbomb from Lush, it seems so wrong but I loved it
LUSH is known for its cheeky sense of humour and amazing collaborations.
But the high street favourite has excelled itself by bringing out a 'Saltburn themed bath bomb'.
And beauty fans are not exactly lapping it up with some branding it 'insane' and 'just gross'.
The limited edition Saltbomb promises to create salty, milky bathwater fit for a Hollywood A-lister.
And it takes a tongue-in-cheek swipe at the now infamous bath scene with Barry Keoghan in the Emerald Fennel movie.
It's a mineral-rich bomb blended with soothing coconut milk powder and a fragrance it shares with the brand’s moisturising bubble bar, ‘Milky Bath’.
And despite social media users expressing their horror, with one saying 'if you've seen the film, your stomach will be turning at the thought of this', I had to give it a go.
I'm a bit of a Lush addict - I get bath bombs for every Christmas and birthday and love nothing better than a long soak on a Sunday afternoon.
Usually I go for the lavender and jasmine scents but this bomb was totally different.
First, it's completely colourless.
But the lack of bright hues were completely forgotten when I got a whiff of its calming coconut milk scent - total heaven.
Once my bath was run I plopped it in - and this is where I can understand people being put off.
The water immediately turned milk and frothy. Given I'd just watched Saltburn this was a bit of a stomach-turner.
But, undeterred, I climbed in.
And I'm so glad I wasn't put off. Just like any other Lush bath, I could feel the tensions melt away as the mix of salt and milk did its work.
I lay happily for a good hour before I was fully relaxed and drained the bath.
And, while I loved it, I was not tempted to slurp the dregs.
The Lush limited edition Saltbomb, priced at £5, is available online and via the Lush app while stocks last.
