We test cult concealers at all price points – they’ll help hide your blemishes

I’VE had acne for 15 years, and thankfully the options for treating and covering it have got better since I was first diagnosed.

This week, I put three cult concealers to the test to see which is best for camouflaging spots.

E.L.F. Hydrating Camo Concealer (£7 for 6ml boots.com): I’ve not yet tried an E.L.F. product I haven’t liked, so my expectations were high for this.

The coverage is phenomenal, so it easily covers redness and a little goes a really long way.

I accidentally applied far too much on my first try as the large doe-foot wand has at least two whole-face applications worth on it.

Unfortunately, despite the high coverage, it only stays put for about half a day, so I tend to use it when I’m not bothered about it wearing off and reach for a more long-wear option when I want the security of knowing my spots are covered.

KYLIE COSMETICS Power Plush Liquid Concealer, (£20 for 5ml, boots. com): Kylie Cosmetics is best known for its lip products, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this concealer, having never tried any of the brand’s base offerings before.

The coverage is medium, which I found wasn’t nearly enough to cover any of my redness, even after applying a few layers.

The formula is super-creamy and easy to blend out, although this means it doesn’t last all day and can quickly look oily.

Having tried it on my dark circles, it’s definitely better for brightening than covering blemishes.

Luxury

This is head and shoulders above everything else when it comes to covering redness and pigmentation

HOURGLASS Vanish Airbrush Concealer (£35 for 6ML, cultbeauty.co.uk): I hate to say it, but this concealer is head and shoulders above anything else I’ve ever tried when it comes to covering redness and pigmentation.

It’s slightly drying, so not ideal for under eyes unless paired with a hydrating primer, but the coverage is unparalleled.

The staying power is just as good. Even with an angry, red cystic breakout, I can apply one dot in the morning and it’s still covered by the end of the day.

If you suffer with acne, then it’s well worth the investment as nothing else compares.

RIGHT now, I’d do just about anything to jet off on holiday.

Sadly, it’s not on the cards, but Jo Loves With Love From Positano Fragrance, £135 for 100ml, which launched this week, is seriously helping my itchy feet.

It’s bright, warm and elegant, with notes of calming orange oil, zesty bergamot and warming star anise, I can almost feel the sand at my feet.
