‘Primark is an absolute rip off’ shopper blasts as she’s left fuming at the prices and totally baffled at the thongs
A WOMAN has been left horrified after a shopping spree in Primark.
Talia Webb, a beauty and fashion fan, found herself appalled at the prices in the high-street chain.
Not only was she stunned to see that thongs were £5 for a three pack and an underwear set for £6, but she also wasn’t impressed by the ‘mental price’ of the fluffy pyjama sets.
Posting on social media, Talia described Primark as ‘an absolute rip off’, as she said: “What on earth has happened to Primark?
“It’s actually a bit of a rip off in there.”
As she held up her new thongs, she asked: “£5 for three thongs? Are you mental?

“It's £1 per thong in there. But it's £5 for three.”
She also got a pink seamless set, as she added: “I then went on to buy this pink [underwear] set. Gorgeous. I know. Size small - £6.
“Are you mental? £6. It used to be £5. It's extortionate.”
Not only this, but she also bought a fluffy pyjama set, as she continued: “I then went on to buy this fluffy set - £10. Mental price.”
Talia later claimed: “Primark is an absolute rip off.
“So rude isn’t it.
“So pricey now… PLT [PrettyLittleThing] is cheaper.”
When discussing the price of the thongs, Talia claimed: “I reckon it’s because they don’t do the singles in good colours so you have to spend the fiver.”
But despite her horror at the prices, she also added: “The way I still bought all of it lol.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @taliawebb8, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up a staggering 867,000 views.
But social media users were eager to flood the comments, agreeing with Talia’s claims.
One person said: “Primark is no longer cheap anymore.”
Another added: “I love primark but it’s getting pricey.”
A third commented: “Yeah I won’t go there now, it’s not that cheap shop any more.”
Whilst another user admitted: “I can’t afford Primark anymore.”
Meanwhile, another Primark shopper wrote: “Primark is just not primarking anymore.”
At the same time, someone else claimed: “Nah, the fact that Primark is now selling coats in the £40-60 range is a crime…”
But Talia wasn’t the first shopper to be left baffled at the price of the Primark thongs.
Last year, fashion fan Holly Morris took to TikTok to open up on the change to Primark’s £1 thong pile.
What she described as ‘thong gate’, Holly admitted: “Guys, I’m panicking and shaking.
“I’m just in Primark looking for my thongs - obviously, what else would I be doing at the weekend?”
At the time, the three pack of thongs were £4, which left her stunned, as she added: “I’ve looked at a three pack and it’s now £4.
“I can’t f***ing believe it.
“I know there’s a cost-of-living crisis but I’m facing a crisis right now in the thong department.
“It’s caught me off guard.”
In response to the retailer’s prices, a Primark spokesperson said: “We work hard to offer the best value on the high street, something we know is more important than ever to our customers right now.
