AS the cost of living crisis continues, many of us are looking for cheaper accommodation.
Rather than opting for a smaller home, one Londoner has decided to live in an abandoned hospital but it insists the basement is the creeper than the morgue.
Though the thought of doing this might give you nightmares until next Halloween, Aisha Barratt is surprisingly comfortable in the old asylum.
Like many young people, she became a property guardian are becoming fed up with what was on offer in the rental market.
For those who’ve never heard of the term, property guardianship is often an arrangement where people can live in unusual properties for cheap rent.
It can often be flexible, with used pubs, offices and other building being cared for by tenants until the owners have decided what to do with the property.

Whilst the cheap rent and large living space can be a huge attraction, you can live in some pretty bizarre spaces just like the content creator.
Despite her unconventional living situation, Aisha seems to love the disused building and joked during a tour that the abandoned corridors are her ‘personal catwalk’.
Even living alongside 150 other tenants doesn’t seem to bother her, as there are multiple kitchens, several laundry rooms, a post room, a concierge desk and even a large garden.
Though her pad might be filled with amenities and artwork, there are some major downsides to the decaying hospital – and it isn’t just things that go bump in the night either.
As with many rental homes, the hospital has a problem with guests, most likely mice, often raiding the kitchens at night.
“I will go absolutely feral if my cheese gets stolen again.” She joked, showing the padlocked cupboard in one of the kitchens.
There are also steep steps and non-functioning lifts to contend with, meaning living in a hospital is not for the faint hearted.
If that weren’t bad enough, the TV producer regularly has to make her way through a warren of dimly lit corridors – which are extra creepy as no one is about.
Reading the plaques detailing the hospital’s history, Aisha quipped: “Couple of wards built in 1929, that’s a lot of years for a lot of ghosts.”
However, it’s not this that keeps the content creator up at night as she revealed that it is the basement, not the morgue, which is the scariest part.
Locked away from public view, the influencer could only show it off via a dark stairwell and told her fans that it was ‘terrifying’ down there.
For Aisha though, the scariest thing is often people’s reaction her strange living space with total strangers asking her detailed questions about the morgue online.

“Every time I post about living in an abandoned hospital, without fail someone will ask to see the morgue and you lot act like I’m the crazy one,” she complained in another viral video.
We still think we’d rather live in a normal two up two down, if it’s all the same.
