I’m an aesthetic doctor – my ‘superstar’ products improve fine lines and wrinkles but my free tip is most important
HEALTHY skin can be achieved at home by using the right products and treatments, says an aesthetics doctor.
She revealed the affordable skincare routine she swears by to slow the signs of aging.
Dr. Anatalia Moore offers bespoke treatments for anti-aging, excessive sweating, hair loss, as well as skin conditions such as rosacea.
She boasts over 11 years of clinical experience, having worked as a GP and skin specialist.
She told The U.S. Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin journey.
As everybody’s skin type is different, she advises people to be cautious when taking advice they see pushed by influencers.
Dr. Moore revealed the tips she recommends for maintaining a healthy and youthful appearance.
SKINCARE ROUTINE
She said the fundamental basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages - it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.
“If I had to pick one product that I swear by, it would be my Obagi Hydrate and Hydrate Lux moisturizers,” Dr. Moore said.
“Moisturisers are my superstar, even over products containing active ingredients.
“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them in, literally stabilizes your skin.
“This in itself quickly can soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as often these are worsened by dehydration.
“It also allows the skin the function as it should.
“It then can heal faster, which amongst many things can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, less flares of dermatitis and rosacea, and shorter-lived, milder breakouts.”
Obagi Hydrate moisturizer is available on the brand’s site for $78 as a one-time purchase or a $66.30 subscription.
Sleep deprivation and stress in the short term leads to puffy eyes and dark circles.

The “ultra-rich hydrating” product contains peptides and tara seed extract to rejuvenate skin.
According to the manufacturer, optimal results are achieved by applying the moisturizer nightly.
Delighted customers have given it a 4.8-star rating and shared their honest opinions in reviews.
One person said the moisturizer made their skin “soft” and reduced the appearance of their pores, while another raved that it’s great for mature skin.
“This feels wonderful going onto your skin,” a third said.
“It stays on and keeps your skin from feeling dry.
"I have begun to see a difference in my skin after using the OBAGI products for approximately 2 months.”
RESEARCH INGREDIENTS
Skin begins to change in your 20s whether you notice it or not.
Many popular anti-aging products contain retinol, a type of retinoid.
According to Healthline, retinol can boost collagen production in the skin which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
However, Dr. Moore said starting to use the ingredient derived from vitamin A too soon can cause more damage than good.
“Being passionate about skin health and the science behind it, I cannot deny the lure of adding in a great multitasking active such as a retinoid,” she said.
“They can, in the right patient, absolutely improve many elements of skin health.
“However, you only need to consider that another word for active ingredient, is ‘medicine’ and then trends such as the Sephora-tween can take on a more sinister light.”
“Young skin, generally is very healthy skin.
“Of course, naturally changing hormone levels often can make breakouts really marked, but from an aging and preventative perspective young skin essentially only needs a good cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.
“Throwing in actives into the mix, that influence skin on a cellular level, can cause much more irritation and damage overall.
“Not to mention how forcing youngsters to have an unhealthy preoccupation with smooth pore-free skin can negatively impact mental health and confidence.”
Dermatologist-approved anti-aging tips
Dermatologist Dr. Brendan Camp shared his dermatologist-approved tips with The U.S. Sun.
- Stop using tanning beds.
- Don't use sunscreen to contour your face.

- Exercise, stick to a healthy diet, and get enough sleep.
- Don't drink excessively or smoke.
ADEQUATE REST
Dr. Moore revealed that stress and sleep deprivation can be seen on the skin and over a prolonged period cause aging.
“Over the years I have learned, that sometimes it is worth ignoring the fear of missing out and just listening to my body,” she said.
“Sometimes this has meant I snuggle under the covers at 8 pm or skip socializing to hit the gym, but I am very glad I did.
“Sleep deprivation and stress in the short term leads to puffy eyes and dark circles and in the long run leads to your body releasing inflammatory stress hormones that speed up signs of aging and slow healing.
“For me, and many others this causes dull and sallow skin, worsening lines and laxity, thinning hair, and flares of dermatitis and breakouts.”
BALANCED DIET
She said it’s important to ensure that you’re eating a nutritious range of foods rather than trying to solve skincare problems with cosmetics.
“Skin health definitely begins at home,” Dr. Moore said.
“So, before you invest in prescription skincare or aesthetic treatments, or jump on the next TikTok trend, look to make sure your diet offers you and your skin all the key nutrients it needs.
