Frankfurt business circles explore cooperation opportunities with Turkmenistan
This week, the Consul of Turkmenistan in the Federal Republic of Germany (Frankfurt am Main), Mr. Murad Ozbekbayev, held business meetings with Frankfurt trade and economic associations to discuss prospects for interaction between these structures and Turkmenistan.
During a meeting at the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency with Ms. Anna Stepanenko, Project Manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, the Consulate was acquainted with the activities and objectives of the association, which operates under the patronage of the Frankfurt City Hall and is dedicated to the dynamic development of commerce and trade in the Frankfurt metropolitan area.
The discussion involved a keen exchange of views on establishing trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the Rhine-Main metropolitan region, opportunities for promoting Turkmen businesses in Germany, organizing reciprocal business missions, and holding introductory business forums.
In negotiations at the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry with its Managing Director, Head of International Trade Mr. Jürgen Rathzinger, and Director of the Department for Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe, Turkey, and Central Asia Mr. Paul Schmitz, matters of trade-economic and investment cooperation were considered.
The German side was provided with information on the investment potential and promising projects in the energy, petrochemical, textile, and medical industries of the Turkmen market, as well as opportunities for the export products of our country.
Issues regarding the organization of joint business events in Frankfurt, aimed at expanding direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries, were also addressed.
The Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, being one of the oldest and the third-largest chamber in Germany due to the economic strength of its members, covering the city of Frankfurt and the neighboring districts of Hochtaunus and Main-Taunus, and comprising approximately 102,000 member companies, expressed its readiness to strengthen cooperation with the business circles of Turkmenistan.
