BBC in major last-minute schedule shakeup as TWO beloved shows are ditched from BBC One
THE BBC has announced a last-minute schedule shakeup as two beloved shows are pulled off of BBC One.
The broadcaster has cleared its schedule on Saturday morning for rolling coverage of Pope Francis' funeral.
As a result, two staples of the schedule have been ditched from the main channel this week.
Beeb bosses have taken Saturday Kitchen out of its usual 10am slot on BBC One.
In a bid to save it from being taken off air completely, execs have now scheduled the daytime series on BBC Two.
It will air at the normal time of 10am and run as usual for 90 minutes with Matt Tebbutt at the helm.

He'll be joined by chefs Elliott Grover, Seema Pankhania and Adam Woodyatt, and by special guests Marisha Wallace and Billy Porter.
Meanwhile, the fourth episode of Mary Berry's Love to Cook series has also been affected by the schedule shakeup.
It will also air on BBC Two, and start directly after Saturday Kitchen comes to an end.
Coverage of Pope Francis' funeral will kick off from 8:30am on BBC One with a special BBC News bulletin, forcing BBC Breakfast off air shortly.
The service will be led by the dean of the College of Cardinals and is expected to draw top world leaders who will join thousands of mourners from across the globe for the historic event.
This includes President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, as well as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Meanwhile, No10 said that Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will also attend the funeral.
Prince William is also to attend on behalf of the King, Kensington Palace announced.
King Charles and Queen Camilla previously paid tribute to the Pope in a touching statement.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa are also expected to attend.
