People are just realising there’s a ‘proper’ way to untangle your vacuum cord & it literally takes 2 seconds
MOST of us will use a vacuum cleaner to give our homes a little spruce-up once a week.
But did you know there's a ''proper'' way to untangle the vacuum cord in just two seconds?
This game-changer of a discovery was recently shared on TikTok by mum Amanda, who only learnt about the trick not long ago.
If you don't have one of the viral Henry vacuum cleaners, chances are you're using an upright vacuum - which comes with a little tab by the handle.
The nook comes in handy when it's time to wrap the cord around and store the vacuum cleaner away.
But turns out, the tab is there for more than just keeping the long cord intact and safe for storing, Amanda discovered earlier this month.

What many fellow cleaning fans may not know is that the tab also flips around - meaning you don't have to spend ages removing the cord manually.
Gobsmacked by the revelation, the TikToker said in her most recent video: ''I was today years old (40, I'm 40) when I realised I've been taking the cord off the vacuum wrong.
''I've always wondered why this little tab flips around,'' Amanda said, before demonstrating how quickly the long cord came off the tab once it had been turned downwards.
''Are you kidding me?!'' she couldn't believe the discovery, which is sure to slash the cleaning time.
Amanda went on in the caption: ''Does your vacuum have this?!
''Y’all, my mom worked for Dyson for years and I still never knew this until today!''
'I had no idea until this moment'
The informative clip, shared on Amanda's page, @amandasparkles9, has since gone viral, winning the mum more than 4.5million views and close to 113k likes.
A staggering 4,747 people flooded to comments - where there was a fierce debate on how really ''common'' this knowledge was.
''this app makes me feel really good about myself,'' said one who appeared to have already known this fact.
10 Grossest Areas People Forget to Clean
By Danielle Mason, who has 20 years of experience
Under and Behind the Fridge
Crumbs, dust, and spills accumulate over time, attracting pests and creating bad odours.
Shower Curtain & Liner
These collect mildew and soap scum but are often overlooked. Wash or replace them regularly to keep your bathroom fresh.
Toothbrush Holder
One of the germiest places in the bathroom, filled with bacteria and toothpaste residue. Rinse and disinfect it weekly.
Dishwasher Filter
Food particles and grease build up, leading to unpleasant smells and reduced efficiency. Remove and clean the filter every few weeks.
Washing Machine Seal
The rubber gasket traps mould, mildew, and detergent buildup. Wipe it down with white vinegar and leave the door open to air dry.
Light Switches and Remote Controls
Touched daily but rarely cleaned, making them germ hotspots. Wipe them down with disinfectant regularly.
Under the Sofa Cushions
Crumbs, dust, and even lost items hide in the cracks. Remove the cushions and vacuum thoroughly.
Kitchen Sink & Plughole
Food residue builds up, causing bad odours. Pour boiling water, bicarbonate of soda, and vinegar down the drain to freshen it.
Ceiling Fans
Dust piles up on the blades and gets redistributed into the air when turned on. Use a microfibre cloth or pillowcase to clean them easily.
Doormats
They trap dirt and bacteria from shoes but are rarely washed or vacuumed. Shake them out weekly and deep clean them every month.

''I fear this is common knowledge my friend,'' another chimed in.
But there were also plenty of those who had no idea their vacuum cleaners boasted such a feature.
''Unfortunately I never connected these dots either lol,'' a viewer joked.
''Y’all saying this is common knowledge really hurt my feelings,'' someone else cried.
