I was humbled by a pair of Asos leather trousers but the haul wasn’t a total fail – a denim jumpsuit fit me like a glove
A PETITE fashionista was on the verge of returning all of the clothes she ordered from Asos before trying on a flattering denim jumpsuit.
She had spent most of her time online shopping over the past few weeks while recovering from an illness.
Lauren (@its_laurensarah) has over 355,000 followers on TikTok, who look to her for outfit inspiration.
The 5ft style enthusiast took to the social media platform to share the latest items she bought from Asos.
“I’ve been slightly unwell for the past few weeks meaning I haven’t really done much,” she said.
“But I’ll tell you what I have done, a lot of online shopping so let’s do a little Asos try-on.”
Lauren emptied the large parcel filled with clothes onto the floor before picking leather bottoms as the first item to try on.
LEATHER PANTS
“First I’ve got some leather trousers. It was an odd choice,” Lauren said.
Asos Design’s super skinny sculpt leather look pants were $17.50 before they sold out.
Lauren struggled to pull the zip-up on the side of the trousers as she tried it on with a black jumper.
“They are humbling me,” she said. “The fabric is stuck in the zip that’s so annoying.
“I’m already going to say that these are a no. I don’t know why, I just don’t love them.
“I don’t think they are flattering me. Okay, back these go.”
She looked indecisive as she posed from different angles, saying: “Could they be cool? Let me know in the comments.”
BLACK JUMPSUIT
Lauren looked perplexed as she looked at Asos Design’s strapless denim jumpsuit in washed black.
The $71 jumpsuit is sold in sizes ranging from 0 to 14.
“This is broken there’s no button on it. What the heck is going on?” she said.
“I’m still gonna try it because I can always sew a button on.”
Lauren was shocked after discovering that there was a button tucked in the neckline rather than where she had expected.
She critiqued the jumpsuit, saying; “It’s a little bit long but that was to be expected so I would just have to snip it off.
“I do actually quite like this I just don’t know if the crotch is a little bit low because it’s not petite.
“Is it worth keeping even though it doesn’t have the button that is the question.”
BLUE JUMPSUIT
Lauren donned In The Style’s petite denim bandeau flared jumpsuit which is currently unavailable to purchase on Asos in the US.
However, a similar style is available to purchase for $69.99 from Asos Design.
“This is similar in blue but this is petite so hopefully it fits me better,” she said.
Lauren was all smiles as she tried on the blue jumpsuit and began to rave about the fit.
“Oh guys, this fits me like a glove,” she said. “This is perfect.
“I would add a strapless bra just for help but I absolutely love this, oh my God it is so cute.
“It’s the perfect length as well if I add some trainers or heels they’re gonna fit me really nicely.
“Oh my gosh, I love this. It is a little bit stretchy meaning that you do have room to breathe.
“If you wore this to dinner you could still sit and be fine. This is a winner.”
STRAPLESS BLACK TOP
Lauren continued the shopping haul by trying on a satin corset top which cost $37.99.
“I’m going to try this but I feel there is not actually a world in which this fits me,” she said.
“It just seems so tiny. That is never going to happen.”
Lauren initially appeared to have squeezed into the satin crop top but gradually turned to reveal it wasn’t fastened.
“This is kind of the vibe, but this… no way, no way. If you want to get this size up,” she advised.
FLARED SLEEVES TOP
Lauren attempted to try on a high-neck black top with flared sleeves, which is currently unavailable on Asos in the US.
“I literally can’t get my head through the hole,” she said. “My God this one is a no.”
She was visibly frustrated as she pulled off the top and showed the hole where her head was supposed to fit.
“I’m going to say it now, I have a pee head,” she said. “I do not have a big head, whose head is that little?
“Oh my God that is ridiculous.”
SPARKLY BLOUSE
Asos Designs’s sequin top with satin bows in silver was $49.99 before shoppers flocked to buy it.
Lauren struggled to tie the bows on the back of the eye-catching top as she didn’t have anyone to help her.
“We’re trying this one now and there is no way that I can physically put that top one in a bow,” she said, showing the untied ribbons on the back.
“But I feel like we’re getting the vibe and honestly I think it’s really cute.
“If that was tied properly that would be absolutely beautiful.
“It is a little itchy though I’m not going to lie… the sequins. I’m going to keep it.
“Look how sparkly that is, gorgeous.”
BLACK SKORT
Lauren donned a Pimkie asymmetric skort with embellish lace up which is no longer available to purchase from Asos in the US.
“It’s shorts, not a skirt,” she said. “ A skort to be precise but I like this kind of subtly festive.
“I don’t know if you can tell all of that [lace] is like little diamantes it’s not just a rope.
“I feel like it’s a relatively family-friendly length.
“Imagine how cute this would be with sheer black tights and cute boots, I was actually envisoning it with the blacktop.
“I thought that would’ve been really cute but Jane, the headhole is for a toddler.
“I like that a lot,” she added while looking at herself in the skort.
SATIN TIE-FRONT TOP
Lauren finished the shopping haul by trying on Miss Selfridge's satin tie front long-sleeve blouse.
The $42.99 top is currently out of stock on the Asos website in all sizes except 10.
“Last thing was this little pink top,” Lauren said. “I just thought it would be nice for a dinner or something.”
Lauren’s excitement about the top seemed to fade as she went from holding it up to trying it on.
“I’ve lost all faith at this point,” she said. “Definitely not with this skirt, I don’t like them together at all.
“For me, the color on me is not the one. This specific color just washes me out.
“It is giving a little Handmaid's Tale, it’s slightly too much for me. So this one is a no.”
Lauren asked viewers to share their opinions on each of the Asos items in the comment section of the video.
She admitted that it was unlikely she would be keeping most of the items that she tried on.
“I don’t know what just happened there but it was pretty much all round a fail,” she said.
The video racked up almost 4,000 likes after going viral with many viewers taking to the comment section to share their opinions.
“Giving me Sandy from Grease vibes. Love the leather leggings on you!” one person wrote.
