BBC Morning Live viewers have two big complaints about ‘dangerous and unrealistic’ cooking demonstration
BBC Morning Live viewers were baffled after a TikTok chef showed off his cooking skills during the latest episode.
Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton hosted Wednesday’s instalment of the popular morning chat show, where they discussed current topics.
Dr Ranj was introduced on the BBC show and spoke about outdated medicine, while Nick Stapleton opened up the conversation on current energy scams.
Gethin and Helen also discussed things people wish they knew about divorce and much more, but what got fans talking was when TikTok chef Mitch Lane was introduced to the mix.
The young chef came on and dished up a meatball pitta with salad for everyone in the studio, which he claimed cost only a fiver to make.
During his appearance, fans took to X(Twitter) and expressed their opinions about his style of cooking, with one saying: “Chefs on TV should know soap is vital to properly wash raw meat blood off hands.

“See it time and again on TV, chefs make big thing bout ‘swilling’ water around their hands when it’s not enough #morninglive.”
Another added: “That meal CANNOT be done for under a fiver unless you already have all those spices. If you don't, they alone would cost a fiver. #b******s #morninglive.”
A third chimed: “Not buying it - and I'm thrifty as f***.”
During the Morning Live episode, Gethin introduced the chef, saying: “We are in the kitchen now. It's a great smell, isn't it? We are with TikTok star and home cook Mitch Lane."
He teased: “He's such a star on TikTok, he doesn't even know how many followers you got anymore. It’s like, whatever.
“He started in lockdown and everyone just follows these recipes because it's so simple, easy and delicious.”
Mitch then replied: "Exactly that. It's all about convenience, isn’t it these days, everyone wants cheap, quick and easy.
“So that's what it's all about, really."
Helen then interjected: "And that's what this is. It's affordable, we can all do it, it's hearty and smells great.
“Let's get stuck in because you reckon you can feed the whole family on the whole lot.”
The budding chef then enthusiastically responded: “You'll do this for under a fiver comfortably.
“It's a really simple thing. We've got a bowl, and it's just a matter of chucking a load of ingredients into a bowl, frying up the meatballs and serving it with a bit of salad and pittas. It's nice and easy."
An invested Helen then asks for clarification: “So that's what we're making meatballs in pitta, to which Mitch confirms: “Homemade meatballs in pitta bit of salad, any sauce, your choice...”
Gethin assisted the social media star before he started frying up the eye-watering meal, which everyone in the studio seemed to enjoy, with some even looking around for seconds.
Morning Live has gone from strength to strength after bagging an extended 75-minute runtime as well as signing up Helen Skleton and Michelle Ackerley to work alongside the show's existing glittery names Kimberley Walsh, Gethin Jones and Kym Marsh.
