This Morning’s Sian Welby admits crazed fan has been sending her ‘creepy’ messages for over a decade

THIS Morning newcomer Sian Welby has opened up about living in fear of a crazed fan for over a decade.

The blonde presenter, 37, who impressed bosses fronting the ITV daytime entertainment show last week, has revealed she has received messages as she gets more famous.

Sian, who has been tipped to become the ‘new’ Holly Willoughby, said: “Obviously I get a few creeps. I have had somebody for the past 10 years who has wanted to gunge me. You do get the weirdos.

“That is always a scary thing I’m worried about. It is a strange job, the more successful you get in your job is  that you lose your normal life.”

Speaking on the Headstrong podcast the former weather host also opened up about being made redundant from Channel 5.

She added: “It was mad. It was a blur. I will never know legally what should have happened. I think I signed a year’s contract the day before and the next day they changed their mind.

“The Met Office said they would do the weather and they decided to do it in house. I trusted the universe with it and I thought, ‘Maybe I am supposed to leave this job.’”

The star joined the show in 2020, replacing Vick Hope after she left the programme.

Sian got her big break when she was just 19, when a starring role in an advert for New! Magazine, led to her being spotted by former Channel 5 owner Richard Desmond.

She later landed a job on Channel 5 News in November 2010 as the main weather presenter.
