We can’t afford a house so converted a garage – people are so shocked by the transformation, it’s bigger than most flats
THINKING of flying the nest but can't afford the astronomical costs of buying a house?
One woman may have found the answer.
Christy Capps and her partner Jarred bought a plot of land, and plan to build their dream house on it one day.
However, at the moment, they cannot afford to do this because of the rising cost of living, so have chosen to live in a garage on the plot of land instead.
Christy shared her reasoning behind choosing to live in the garage via a video posted to her TikTok channel, @christycapps_ .
She said: "This is not nearly as expensive as a house, and it's still really liveable."

In another video, Christy showed viewers a tour of the garage.
Downstairs is a 2,000 square foot garage space, which she plans to use to store gardening equipment.
Upstairs is a 1,0000 square foot living space.
Despite the fact that it's a garage, the property looks very spacious from the inside.
There is a large kitchen decked out with white cabinets and golden taps.
The bathroom has stylish vinyl flooring, a giant shower and a gold rimmed mirror.
The garage also has a pantry and Christy has created an adorable reading nook out of benches.
To optimise storage space she has added little tiny cupboards around the garage.
She has also added sliding doors to save space.
Christy has chosen a stunning mint green colour for the door to her garage apartment and plans to build a patio outside the property.
The garage is yet to be finished, but will surely look fab once it's decked out with furniture.
Christy's video has clearly left many impressed, as it has racked up over 450,000 views.
TikTik users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on the garage.
One user said: "My fiance and I are thinking of doing something like this!"
Another user added: "I love it, it's gorgeous".
