‘That looks like a bridal gown’ critics slam mum who buys ‘OTT’ dress with embellishments for her daughter’s big day
A MUM has been brutally slated after sharing the ''OTT'' tulle gown she was considering on wearing to her daughter's big wedding day.
Planning your outfit as a wedding guest is no easy task - which is why mother-of-the-bride decided to see what her daughter thought of her gorgeous frock.
The show-stopper of tulle maxi number was a fabulous light peach dress bedazzled with sparkly embellishments and flower detailing around the plunging neckline.
Meanwhile, the thin spaghetti straps, too, had a light pearl detailing all over and the open back featured a corset-style ribbon in Spring-like yellow.
However, after the bride showed snaps of the dress to her fiancé, he was anything but pleased and insisted the frock wasn't fit for a wedding guest.
Taking to Reddit to share her dilemma, the daughter sought advice in a post, where she had also uploaded images of the light peach gown.

''Hey everyone, I’m the bride and my mom sent me this dress she plans to wear to my wedding.
''My fiancé says it is too bridal, but I am unsure and want others opinions please.''
Highly inappropriate all around!

According to the bride, who claimed she'd never attended a wedding ceremony in the past, the dress code was set as ''formal'' and she even added a photo of the gorgeous gown she'd found for herself.
''I haven’t been to a wedding before, so I really am not the best with these kinds of things.''
Dozens of fellow Reddit users then flocked to comments, where they shared their thoughts - and unfortunately for the mum, people were quick to slate her dress choice.
Many, for instance, insisted the tulle dress was far too ''bridal'' in their eyes and too ''over the top''.
''That looks like a bridal gown to me!'' one social media user said.
Someone else agreed, adding: ''Mama's got main character syndrome. That's a hard no.''
Another chimed in: ''Gravitas and decorum call for a tiny bit more modesty for that age.
''She needs to realise that it's not her wedding and your wedding is not an excuse to larp [Live Action Role Play] as a twenty something fairy.''
''Is this a joke? It looks like a bridal negligee! Highly inappropriate all around!'' a fourth was stunned.
However, not everyone was slamming the wedding guest attire, as one Reddit user decided to ''go against the grain'' and hit back at the dress critics.
''I think it's stunning and as I was looking at it, it made me happy that someone's mother felt confident enough to rock such a modern dress.
''Most MOB dresses are old and frumpy. This dress wouldn't bother me at all and I think it's beautiful!'' wrote the person who reckoned that nobody was ''going to detract from the bride''.

After the bride's post took the platform by storm, the daughter also shared an update - and luckily for the trolls, there will allegedly be a discussion about finding an alternative.
The bride said: ''Thanks everyone for the advice! I will talk to my mom about wearing another dress.''
