‘Butt ruching isn’t appropriate for you brother-in-law’s wedding’ people slate guest’s ‘revealing’ & ‘look at me’ dress

A WEDDING guest has been brutally slated after revealing the potential dress options she was planning on wearing for a ''formal'' ceremony.

If you've ever been invited to someone's nuptials - or have a wedding coming up - you will know just how stressful finding the perfect outfit it.

This is why one woman took to Reddit to seek advice ahead of her brother-in-law's big day - however, unfortunately for the fashionista, the feedback wasn't entirely positive.

According to the guest, the dress code for the rooftop wedding in autumn was ''formal'', but she had managed to find three potential options whilst browsing online.

One of them, the style lover shared in her post, was a figure-hugging maxi dress in bright red.

The bodycon frock, which came with two spaghetti straps around the shoulders, also had a stunning open back, as well as a ruched booty area to enhance the curves.

Another possible outfit the online shopper had spotted on Oh Polly - which now also offers a brand new rental service - was a fabulous maxi dress with an ombré effect in Barbie pink and pastel orange.

The show-stopper dress also featured ruched detailing around the bust, whilst the low-cut back made for a grand entrance and the bedazzled material was sure to make heads turn.

To make sure she was extra prepared, the fashionista had also added a third frock she'd stumbled upon whilst shopping online - this time, a gorgeous blue maxi dress with a thigh-high split.

The spaghetti strap frock featured a corset-style top and ribbon for extra detailing, and the model had paired it with a chic updo.

''Dress code: formal. which one of these 3 options is the most appropriate?

''Is the open back with the red dress too much? Thank you in advance,'' the wedding guest sought advice.

Since uploading the snaps on the popular forum, the wedding attendee's post has been inundated with dozens of responses - and sadly for the Redditor, people urged her to find new alternatives.

''None of the above. They are all “everybody look at me” too much for a family wedding. Keep looking,'' one advised.

Someone else agreed, adding: ''These are not wedding guest dresses.

''I’m not anti bodycon dresses at wedding, but I am anti these specific dresses. They look very young and kind of gauche.''

''I think that the butt ruching is more of an issue than the open back,'' a third chimed in.

''I don’t really think that any of these are appropriate for your BIL’s wedding. The second one could MAYBE work, but it really depends on the vibe/city.''

''I suggest you keep looking, I think these are all a little too sexy for a family wedding (the butt ruching, the swimsuit top, the actual corset),'' a fellow social media user said.

After being brutally slammed for the ''cheap and dated'' options, the woman also shared a response to the critics.

'' I was looking at Oh Polly mostly cause I had a gift card and a lot of my friends have gotten dresses from there.

''But I’ll look elsewhere for now.''
