I can get my clothes dry in 15 minutes thanks to my DIY dryer and ‘bath smack’ method – it’s so easy
WET weather, freezing temperatures and snow have made it near impossible to dry washing outside in recent weeks.
Whilst many of us are counting down the days until the weather gets warmer, one woman has found a hack to dry her washing even on the gloomiest of days.
If you’ve been struggling to get through your laundry pile, you aren’t alone right now.
According to study by Direct Line, 54% of Brits rely on a traditional washing line to dry their laundry and another 55% of those surveyed will use an airer as an alternative.
Whilst these are great eco-friendly options, both have they downside with wet washing being exposed to the elements or taking days to dry indoors.
Though we can’t do anything about the weather, one woman has found an easy way to speed up drying times without using an expensive dehumidifier or heated airer.

Rather than bundling all her clothes on the laundry line, Tee Diaz uses an old fashion laundry hack to get her clothes dry - smacking her clothes to release any extra water.
While your grannies might have done this with an old fashioned wash board back in the day, the Tiktok user prefers to do this against the edge of her bath tub for easy clean up.
However, this savvy mum is far from done with the laundry as she will then make her own DIY dryer to get through her overflowing laundry basket (yes, you read that right).
Before you start getting your tool kit out, you won’t need any technical knowhow as Tee assembles the ‘dryer’ from an assortment of household items.
As she explained in her now viral-video, the busy mum uses an old laundry basket – preferably a strong plastic one with holes or a large rim.
This will allow you to hang a few items of wet washing on hangers, with any fabric neatly tucked into the centre of the basket.
Once she has done this, the content creator will then place the entire thing into a zip or drawstring laundry bag - leaving a small gap at the top.
Taking her family’s trusty hairdryer, the busy mum will then insert the hairdryer into the small gap and give her washing a quick 15 minute blast to help dry it off.
Whilst it might not be a conventional way to do laundry, the content creator insists this hack is for those days when you urgently need a particular piece of clothing.
Unsurprisingly, her short video has gone semi-viral with hundreds people tuning in to see how she keeps on top of her laundry.
Before you start doing this with your family’s entire laundry load, we do advise that you check whether your laundry basket is heat resistant before giving it a blast with your hair dryer.
