My five-minute window cleaning hack leaves glass completely streak-free – buy the tool for £7.99 in Home Bargains
ADULTING can feel like one long to-do list with endless chores and there is no getting out of most of them.
Whilst you might not be able to reduce how many household tasks you have, you can cut down on how long you spend cleaning your window with this clever hack.
Like with all good life hacks, this nifty tip was originally shared on Tiktok.
It was uploaded by Jacqueline, the founder of cleaning company Your Home Reimagined who regularly goes viral on the app for her organisation household tips.
In the short clip, she showed her 468,000 followers how easy it was to get their windows gleaming using a surprising item: a swiffer mop.
Rather than bending and stretching get rid of any dirt, the content creator easily glides the damp mop over her windows and only stops to go over spots when needed.

She was so excited to share the hack that she wrote in the caption: “Never scrub your windows for hours again, this hack takes less than 5 minutes and your windows will be GORGEOUS!”
To ensure she gets the best streak free shine possible, the influencer will also a mix of washing up liquid, white vinegar and warm water to cut through grime.
Not only does this reduce the amount of cleaning products you need to buy, dunking your mop in this mixture will help make it slightly heavier and less likely to flop about as you clean.
If you are tempted to try this hack, you’ll need to added a ¼ cup of white vinegar, ½ tsp of dish detergent and 2 cups of warm water to bucket.
After dunking your mop in this mix, it should be damp to the touch and should easily glide over your windows – if not, simply re-wet it.
However, the cleaning guru wasn’t done getting her windows gleaming as she then used a dry cloth on the swiffer mop to dry them.
Not only did it easily leave a streak free shine, the cleaning hack is eco-friendly as you can simply rinse off the cloths and use them again.
If you don't have a swiffer mop don't despair though, you can easily find them on the high street and Home Bargains currently have one for just £7.99.
Unsurprisingly, this hack went viral on the app and has been seen by over 65,000 people – with many eager to test it for themselves.
Having tried this method at home, one happy cleaner wrote: “This works. I just tried it. Great for us short people.”
If you are still struggling to get that illusive streak free shine, then you can also use another surprising household item to get your windows gleaming.
According to Tiktok, you can also use a long handled dish sponge filled with washing up liquid and white vinegar to easily target tricky spots.
